I sighed as my best friend Leah and I walked into the club.

“What’s wrong?” Leah asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

I shrugged my shoulders. “We do the same thing every Friday night.”

“I thought you liked partying.”

“I do, but, I mean, we’re only 22, and this is all we ever do is party.”

She shook her head. “Let’s just enjoy the night; we’ll talk about it later.”

I sighed again but reluctantly followed Leah to the bar where we both took 3 shots of jagermeister immediately.

I always promised I wouldn’t drink more than a few drinks when I went out, but I always did. I’d get completely wasted and wake up 14 hours later in someone’s bed.

I fanned my face with my hands, it was really hot. The dress I was wearing was long sleeved, to hide my scars.

I walked away from the bar and sat down on a red leather couch. Looking around, I saw three tall guys in black. They looked very familiar. As one of them turned around, I realized it was Angelo Parente, Chris Motionless, and Ricky Horror. I felt my heart rate speed up as I noticed them. Motionless In White was my favorite band. I quickly ran back over to the bar where Leah was and grabbed her arm.

“Ow! What are you doing, Nevaeh?” She shouted.

“Look over there!” I shouted back, turning her towards the three guys.

As she realized what she was looking at, her jaw dropped and her eyes got wide.

“Oh my god!” She shrieked, jumping up and down. “We have to go talk to them!”

She grabbed my arm against my will and pulled me over towards them. As we got close, Angelo and Chris turned their heads to look at us.

“Hi.” Leah said, smiling up at Chris.

“Um, hey.” Chris raised an eyebrow. “Do I know you?”

“We’re your biggest fans.” She said loudly, leaning against his arm.

“Leah.” I hissed, pulling her off of him. “Stop it.” I felt my face getting red and was instantly thankful for the dark club.

Chris laughed. “It’s okay. What’s your name?” He asked Leah.

She smiled, leaning against him again. “I’m Leah, and this is Nevaeh.”

“It’s nice to meet you two.” He smiled.

Ricky finally spoke up. “Nevaeh? I like that.”

I blushed. “Thank you.”

Angelo handed Leah and I a beer. “What are we doing without a drink in our hand? Let’s get fucked up.”

We took our drinks and mine was gone in three minutes.

“Damn girl, I hope you can hold your liquor.” Chris said, laughing.

Three hours, fifty drinks, and hundreds of drunken jokes later, Leah, Chris, Angelo, Ricky, and I were wasted.

I got off of the couch and began staggering over to the bar, but I stopped when I saw a black velvet curtain covering another room. I walked over to the room and went inside. The smell was crazy.

“What’s going on in here?” I giggled.

Three boys jerked away from a table and turned to face me, with a weird looking cigarette in their hands.

It’s a blunt, dumbass I thought to myself.

“Get the hell outta here girl!” One of the boys said.

I giggled again. “Can I hit that?”

A different boy stood up and brought the blunt over to me. I grabbed it out of his hand and put it between my lips, inhaling deeply.

“Guys, I think we’re being loud.” Angelo chuckled as we tried to quietly walk down the otherwise silent street.

“Who the hell cares?” Leah giggled, still hanging all over Chris.

Ricky and I were bringing up the rear.

“It’s the middle of July, why are you wearing a long sleeved dress?” He laughed, gesturing towards my dress.

“Uhhh…” I didn’t know what to say. “I had some… personal problems.”

“You can tell me.” He slurred, looking over at me and smiling. “I won’t tell a soul. Scout’s honor.”

I stopped walking and grabbed Ricky’s arm so he would stop to. The rest of the group wouldn’t even notice that we weren’t behind them. I slowly rolled up the sleeves on my dress and held out my arms.

“Why would you do this to yourself?” He slurred, holding one of my arms in his hands.

I shrugged, feeling a few tears roll down my cheeks. “My parents died when I was 12. I got really depressed, and I started cutting. I never wanted to stop.”

He let go of my arm and grabbed my hand, and held it all the way back to their house.
