Tommy smothered my stomach in love.
He always was happiest in the day when we had our picnic lunch. We would sit and watch the horses and teach our son to talk ever since he was getting good at walking.
"My little momma is so gorgeous." Tom smiled at me with his handsome lopsided smile, wrapping my cardigan around my baby belly to make sure we stayed warm in the fall breeze.
He sat up as I ate a slice of apple. His smile quickly dropped at something behind me.
He leapt up and started running and shouting while waving his arms wildly. "NO, NO, NO, NOOOOO! STOP ATHOS!"
I glanced behind myself as Harry plopped in my lap.
I gasped and covered Harry's eyes at the sight I had seen.
Athos had mounted Jane.
Thomas came back, storming over and in a huff. Harry wanted to sit on his lap, making a fussed face at his dad before Tom sat and Harry wobbled into his lap.
"You keep saying they're in love, but I didn't think you meant quite like that." He said to me, handing our boy an apple slice.
I giggled with a blush. "I warned you. I'm sure he's going to adore her having his foal. He's been plotting it for some time. I could see that look in his eyes."
Tom huffed and watched our boy, smoothing out the same dark hair he had given him. "You excited for your baby brother or sister?" He asked Harry.
Harry nodded and did his little clap. He was nothing short of adorable. "Mommas making sure they get here nice and quick. All warm and toasty. They should be here not long after spring starts, buddy."
I giggled and watched as my boys played together, eating and having fun. When Harry got fussy, I gave him my breast to calm and possibly go down for his nap.
We watched him, talking about plans for the baby's room and how we wanted the babe to come.
"I want you to deliver them again." I told him honestly.
He nodded to my surprise. "No storm this time. Scared the life out of me."
My husband looked so peaceful, just watching us. I had never seen him quite so at peace. He was just relaxed and full a content energy that made me happy.
I stroked our sons hair and spoke quietly to Thomas. "I think we're having another boy."
He nodded and watched Harry's eyes get heavy, adoring being close to me.
"I think we should have three boys and one girl. They can protect her when we can't then." He told me honestly.
I smiled at him with tears in my eyes for no apparent reason. I just loved him so much and the hormones were making me tear up. "Four it is."
Our life was nothing short of happiness. It was filled with pure love and absolutely beautiful sunny days. Our boy grew stronger and stronger, getting faster and talking more as I grew his little sibling.
Which I soon had.
Thomas and I didn't tell anyone I was in labour. He occupied himself with work the entire day until I called him from the porch of the house.
Just at sunset, Harry promised to stay in his room, waiting for his sibling as Thomas helped me so bravely.
Our guesses had been correct. We had yet another boy to our glee and to much of Harry's glee too.
Harry was thrilled for his baby brother. He always wanted to play and hold and talk to him. He was so thrilled to have him around.
And thomas and I just couldn't help but begin trying right away for our third babe.
