Flashback (dream)

The snowfall was getting more intense as Hinata ran through the snow storm, running away from her family. The way everyone looked at her, the way Neji niisan who always smiled at her was crying made Hinata scared. Was it all her fault? What was going on? With a mixture of confusion and sadness Hinata continued running and running, not knowing where she was headed.

A sudden fall brought Hinata back to consciousness as she finally took a break to look around. Panic started building up inside of her as the young heiress of the Hyūga clan realized that she was lost. Warm tears trickled down her face as her hopelessness started to overwhelm her...

"Hey, what are you doing here? Hehe, If you keep crying how am I supposed to find out."

When Hinata looked up to see who's voice she was hearing, she saw a little boy who looked about the same age as she was. He had the eyes of the cloudless blue sky, the hair of the warm summer sun, but the thing that was most noticeable was his bright smile that seemed to bring back all the light that Hinata had lost. She had never seen him before but Hinata felt as if she could totally trust this little boy.

"Where's your house?" The boy asked Hinata with an attempt to get an answer, but all he got in return was a shake of a head which told him that the girl in front of him was completely lost. Without a second thought, he grabbed her hand and started running towards the opposite way of where they were.

Even before she realized, Hinata found herself standing in front of her house. The astonished boy said "You live in a big house like this, and you're crying? I don't have anyone, but I don't cry." After saying this the boy looked back towards Hinata, showing off his flashy smile, soon disappearing around the corner after saying a short goodbye.

As soon as the boy disappeared, lord Hiashi arrived, bombarding Hinata with questions and words of lecture. However, none of his words were heard by Hinata as she remembered the warmth that the boy had shared with her. Looking down at her hands, Hinata thought, 'His hands were so warm. I wonder what his name is.' Her thoughts trailed back to the boy's warm blue eyes as she felt her heartbeat growing faster and faster.

Ba-dump, Ba-dump.

Present

Hinata's moon-like eyes opened as the ache she felt on the back of her neck sent a flashing pain down her lower body. 'Where am I?' She began to regain her consciousness and started to look around her remembering that she had been forced into another dimension.

"So you're finally awake my child. It took you quite a bit actually. Was that too much of a strain for you?" Sensing another source of chakra around her, Hinata looked around, spotting Kaguya hovering over her with a smirk on her face.

"What have you done to everyone? Where have you brought me to! Bring everything back to normal now!"

"Hm, I wonder if you'll want to go back once you learn the truth about your destiny, my child."

"What are you talking about? Say it in a way that I can possibly understand!"

"Aren't you quite demanding for a young girl? I guess you'll have to learn the ways of the Ōtsutsukis eventually. As for now, I think I'll have to send you back in time so that you can see everything from the right point of view, Hinata."

"The right point of view...? You mean I have been living a lie all along?"

"Yes, as I have mentioned several times already. Look at you picking up on stuff already." Smiling slightly at Hinata, Kaguya held the hands of the black-haired girl. She continued to simply admire the raven haired girl as her beautiful eyes seemed to illuminate the moonlight of the dimension that they traveled to.

"Show me." After a few moments of silence, Hinata started, looking up at Kaguya who seemed quite surprised.

"Show you what my dear?"

"The real story. My story. If what you are telling me is right, I want to know how wrong my life has been. I have to see with my own eyes for me to believe that I have been living a lie that defies my fate." Full of confidence, Hinata looked up to see the goddess smiling at her, sending her a reassuring look.

"Are you sure about this my dear?" Kaguya asked.

"Yes. I will see it with my own eyes and fix everything. I will fix it and prove to you that my story is not wrong." Hinata answered firmly, showing not a single doubt in her voice.

"Alright, your wish will be granted. Until we meet again then my daughter Hinata. Farewell." With a short goodbye, Kaguya let go of Hinata's hands, slightly pushing her.

"Wait, what are you doing? I thought you were showing me my life!?"Hinata exclaimed as a sudden sense of terror started to build up inside her.

"My my you are such an innocent girl Hinata. There is no such thing as the easier way around in life. You will have to live through your life once again. That is the punishment that I am giving you for defying my words." Chuckling with an evil intent, Kaguya smiled brightly at Hinata as her feet started leaving the ground with an unknown force pushing her backwards.

Hinata felt her body slowly moving back and soon she felt her body touching something cold. As the coldness got intense, she seemed to be drowning underwater. Just before she lost consciousness, she heard Kaguya's voice saying, "No matter what you say, you are my daughter. You belong with us." and soon Hinata was engulfed by the shadows, into the darkness.
