Virat Got Punished

"Last time we had Rohit and Shikar together in our breakfast with champions and this time we have Virat and Suresh together. I am sure this is going to be double fun", said Gaurav after ordering breakfast for the three of them.

"So Suresh, congratulations for the success of your book 'Believe', it is wonderful and very inspiring"

"You are right sister, even I read it when I was in London. It's amazing. Congratulations Sonu bhai", added Virat.

"Thank you guys, I am really overwhelmed with all the love Believe is receiving. The book is very close to my heart", replied Sonu.

Just that moment, the breakfast is served and the three kept talking about various moments with the team. In the midst of their conversation, Gaurav asked.

"You guys have played together for quite a few matches and now if we see, you both are very fit and behind this fitness, there are few sacrifices and a lot of sweat involved right? Going back in days, How was your captain MS regarding discipline and diet. Was he strict?"

"No, no Mahi bhai was always friendly. We all used to be like a family", replied Sonu.

"Okay let me put it this way. Suresh, now we see Virat so fit but way back in 2008, he was a bit chubby right...you agree with me. Those days did he get into trouble for not following any rules of the dressing room or anything. Did he get scolded by anyone?", again asked Gaurav. After thinking for few seconds, Sonu replied.

"Well, it was not like scolding but once...(he looked at Virat who was looking down with a serious face) Mahi bhai got very angry on Vi. That was the first time we saw him like that", saying which Sonu stopped not understanding whether to go on or not.

"Oh would you mind sharing it with us?", asked Gaurav for which Suresh looked at Virat.

After taking his time, Virat spoke up.

"It was in 2010 just before Asia cup...I was in good form with around 1000 ODI runs and two international centuries, and with success dancing in my head".

Flashback

At around 10 in the morning, practice was going on.

Few of the batsmen were in the nets with bowlers bowling to them while few of them were doing fielding practice. The captain was monitoring the session but his concentration was on his watch and mobile as for the first time Virat didn't come to the practice on time. He called many times only to get switched off.

"He is not in his room. His mobile is switched off. This never happened before. Oh God, hope Cheeku is fine", Mahi thought to himself.

After one hour, he saw Virat coming down the stairs from the dressing room holding his bat. Mahi hurried towards him.

"What happened Cheeku? Are you alright?"

"Ha bhai, muje kya hoga", replied Virat with a smile.

Looking at his red eyes, weird smile and the way he was fumbling with the bat, Mahi asked "Are you drunk Virat?"

"Issh bhai, vo kya hai na. Kal ek late night party mein Gaya tha...vo bahut late hogaya", saying which he laughed and was about to fall but Mahi caught him. Every one in the team came forward to help but Mahi stopped them.

"Boys, get back to practice. I will come back in few minutes", said Mahi and looking at his angry face, everyone obliged. Mahi took Virat along with him.

In the dressing room, Mahi brought jug of lime water and made Virat drink all of it because of which he vomited continuously for the next 30 minutes.
