Carter woke up, refreshed and relaxed. Last night was the hardest workout ever: Zia would NOT stop pummeling him with fire until he gave up. He did, in fear of setting off the fire alarm. That thing was very annoying.

Everything was going fine until Sadie ran up to him, with a mix of fear and excitement in her blue eyes.

Carter frowned and asked. "What's wrong?"

"It's Setne." Sadie said. "We found him."

"Well, where is he?"

"He's in Long Beach. Knowing him, he won't be there for very long."

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go! We have a criminal to catch!"

"We're coming too!" A voice said. Sadie turned and it belonged to her boyfriend, Walter. Well, Walter was Anubis too because they both joined because Walter was dying.......it's a long story. Anyway, he was with Zia who had hosted Ra at one point and she is hosting one of his forms.........that's a long story too.

Carter grabbed his magician/duffel bag and he and Sadie scampered out the door with Walter-Anubis and Zia-Ra.

The seven were around camp, doing this and that. One activity here, another there. A peck on the cheek, a squeal from the Aphrodite cabin. Normal day at camp. But, of course, that was going to change at any second.

And it did. The ground started to shake, like someone-or something, for that matter-was stomping around like a three-year-old having a temper-tantrum.

"What is that?" Hazel asked. Everyone immediately unsheathed a weapon. Whether it was a sword or dagger or artillery, they were all armed.

The conch horn sounded and Chiron rode up to the seven. Clarisse was with him.

"Chiron, what's going on?" Leo asked.

"Look at the top of Half-Blood Hill." Clarisse said, pointing to the top of the hill. On the hill, a bunch of....red heiroglyphs and Greek letters swirled around someone who was defending himself with those symbols as the campers bravely charged the figure.

"Do you know who it is?" Frank asked.

"No, but he's a threat. He seems dangerous and..." Chiron trailed off. "...foreign." Chiron said it like he was going to say something else but decided against it.

"If he's a threat to camp, then we've got to defend it." Jason said. He looked at his friends and they nodded in assent.

Without any further encouragement, they all raced to Half-Blood Hill. When they arrived, they saw a man with scrawny arms and legs and his ribs showed through his thin frame. He had a hawkish nose and eyes that were unnaturally red. His black hair touched his shoulders and stuck out, making him look like a maniac rather than adorable like Leo or Percy with their untamed hair.

The man threw back his head and cackled, an insane cackle. As the braver campers tried to near him, they would pale and they would be much slower than normal in battle.

"He's using Alexandrian magic!" Annabeth exclaimed. "Don't go near him!"

"What about us? We're Roman!" Frank said, gesturing to Hazel and himself.

"You can try, but not now. He has nasty tricks up his sleeve." Percy replied, keeping his seaweed green orbs on the crazt magician.

"Clarisse! Order the campers to stop attacking!" Piper shouted at the Ares Cabin Leader. Clarisse, for once, did not object and ordered the campers to stop.
