Jason POV:
"me," she says
I am in shock. No one has ever said that. Why wouldn't she like me? Is it because I am out of her league? or is it because she genuinely doesn't like me? nono that can't happen, she is definitely lying. I was zoning out until I heard the last few words the stupid teacher said.
"The first unit..trigonometry"
I let out a groan. It is probably the worst unit in math. I have never understood what the fuck sine or cosine was and I hated it.
"I will be giving out 3 worksheets related to trigonometry so this will show me how much you know and how much I need to teach"
She goes over from desk to desk and hands out 3 pages to each person and soon enough I get three pages as well.
" I will give half an hour and after that, I want all your pages in this black bin" she points to the bin on her desk "please write your name on all the worksheets given so it doesn't get mixed up! good luck!"
I look at the three pages and sigh. There is no way I can do this. In the corner of my eyes, I see the girl beside me staring at the ceiling.
"So gOOd aT mAtH" I mocked her. I find it hilarious that she couldn't do the pages
"huh," she says back
" you are staring at the ceiling which tells me you can't do the worksheets"
"what are you talking about" she raises her pages to my eye level and I see that all of the blanks have been filled.
I have never been this embarrassed. There is no way she finished them in less than 5 minutes.
"but it hasn't even been five minutes that she gave the worksheets"
"..and?" the girl says with a confused face. She stares at me for a few more seconds and goes back to looking up at the ceiling.
What the fuck, I never embarrass myself, it's all because of that stupid girl Toni. I should have never even said anything to her. I hate her.
Like her, I stare at the ceiling probably because I am bored and can't do any of the questions.
About 20 minutes go by until the teacher speaks again
"It has been 30 minutes, I want all of you to hand in your pages now please" she points to the bin again.
One by one everyone stands up and tosses their pages in the bin and the same goes for Toni. I get up embarrassed and also put my blank sheets in the bin. I quickly go back to my desk and sit down.
The teacher gives us a few textbook questions for us to work on while she looks over the three pages. I could care less what she thinks of me.
I hate math.
I was attempting to the textbook questions until I hear
"Toni and Jason please come up to my desk after the period ends"
I look beside me and Toni has a confused look on her face. She might have got all the questions wrong HAH.
I patiently wait for the period to end and once it does, I slowly walk towards the teacher's desk.
"Did you need me ms?" I say politely, I know she is mad at me for not doing anything on the worksheets, but why would she call out Toni's name?
"Hey Jason, yeah I wanted to speak to you and Toni" I look to the side and I see Toni beside me as well.
"Jason, you haven't done anything on these pages which makes me think you don't understand this unit which is completely okay, and your partner, Toni has got all 29/29 on the three pages correct. Both of you have different work ethics and that's okay as well. I would like Toni to tutor you for a bit of this course, would that be okay?"
