It's the evening and Val is sitting on her bed leaning against the bed frame as she twirls the engagement ring around her finger letting out a soft sigh, deep in her thoughts. Even she knew by now that her relationship with Steve was getting complicated, they never had a heart to heart, one minute Steve was hot next minute he was cold.

If they had passionate sex, Steve would be all over her, then the moment it's over he would turn cold again. Val didn't know what she was expecting coming from a mafia man. Part of her was hurt, she shouldn't be. She wanted this, she surrendered to him, gave her virginity to him despite him warning her he was no good for her.

She did it anyway, and she feels useless and down for being played like this, like his toy. Part of her wondered what life was going to be like once it was all over, once he gives her the money and she walks out of his life forever. Would he even care or even miss her company? A knock interrupted her thoughts as she calls out a 'come in' It was Nat.

"Hey.. dinner is ready in 5" Val shrugs. "I'm not really hungry Nat" Nat notices the tension within Val as she frowns at her. She walks over to her and sits on the edge of the bed placing her hand on her bare thigh. "What's up? And don't say nothing, it's written all over your face" Val turns her gaze to Nat and sits up crossing her legs, dropping her hands to her lap. "What's Steve's history with girls?"

"You really want me to answer that?" She raises her eyebrow as she turns to Val, crossing her legs too as they face each other. Val just waits for her to continue. "He's never had a girlfriend, he's not a commitment type of guy, he just fucks and leaves them" Val sighs.

"How can a man be so against love? I mean he's bound to have issues or something but how did he not even give it a chance?" Nat looks away. "It's not my place to say, Steve's past is very personal to him. But his heart broke when he lost his parents and ever since then it just.. it was never mended. He kept that heart, broken"

Val's face drops when she hears Steve lost his parents, she never knew. He never spoke about it of course but she thought maybe he cut ties with his family. Losing a family member was a pain she knew very well after losing her mother.

She knew exactly what it felt like, but she didn't that pain eat her alive, Steve of course was different. She stays silent after a while, Nat looks at her with a grin forming her face. "You're starting to fall in love with him aren't you?"

Val shoots her eyes at Nat before letting out a scoff. "What? Me? No" Nat covers her mouth gasping before slapping her thigh. "Oh my god, you're falling in love with your kidnapper/fake husband/father's top enemy!" Val rolls her eyes at Nat's response "It's not love! How can I love someone who doesn't love me back? Am I really trying to get my heart broken?" Nat laughs. "It doesn't mean you can't fall head over heels.."

Val narrows her eyes at Nat making her hold up her hands in defence. "Alright fine.. but me being long term friends with Steve and all, I must say he's as soft as a bear when he's around you" Val raises her eyebrows knowing very well that isn't true. "Well I'm not talking about when he first brought you here.. after.. he just, he's softening up around you and even James could tell"

Val slides off the bed then turns to face Nat. "What can I do to kinda see that side? He won't even go on a date with me, even if he was to agree to go on a date, it would be a show for the public eye to see-" Val instantly stops talking when a idea comes flooding to her. Nat slowly stands up cocking her head to the side. "What are you thinking?"

"I can take him somewhere that I want for a change, and blame it on business as usual, but in reality I'm going to try to get him to open up to me.." Nat looks at her in a impressed manner. "Right well that doesn't sound too bad at all.. how about you get ready for that date and I'll convince him?" Val nods with a wide smile on her face. "Sounds great!"
