*Fourteen Years Later*

Cassandra's P.O.V.

"Cass, wake up. Time for school." A voice whispers in my ear, a voice I immediately recognize to be my fathers'. I groan and turn over, hoping he leaves to let me sleep. No such luck.

"Come on, babe. You don't wanna be late do you?" He asks as he sits on the end of the bed, shaking my calf. When I don't answer, I feel him get up and leave my room. I sigh happily and attempt to fall back asleep. No more than five minutes later, I hear my dad come back into my room. I suddenly jolt awake when the sound of two pots banging together ring through my ears. I shriek and look at my dad with a scowl.

"What the fuck, Dad!" I yell at my dad who's looking at me with an innocent smile, swinging back and forth on his heels while holding the two pots behind his back.

"I told you to get up." Is all he says before leaving the room. I roll my eyes and throw my light blue blanket off of me and stand from my bed. I jump when my dad suddenly sticks his head back into my room. I look at him with my eyebrows raised, waiting for him to say something.

"No cussing." He says and closes my door. I laugh silently and walk towards my bathroom that's connected to my room. I quickly undress and hop in my shower to get clean before getting dressed.

When I finish in the shower, I wrap a towel around me before I walk towards my closet to pick out my outfit for the day. I quickly decide on a pair of light shorts and a light grey crop top with my white and grey sneakers. after I get dressed, I walk back into my bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. After I put my hair in a side braid, I put on light makeup before turning my bathroom light out. I quickly walk over to my dresser to put my bracelets, rings, and earrings on before grabbing my small purse and heading downstairs.

"Dad I'm ready!" I yell up to my Dad, who's probably still getting dressed. I walk over to the coat rack in the front foyer to grab my light grey beanie. I hear my dad coming down the stairs, placing a black beanie over his curls. He's wearing his signature black skinny jeans and his white and black Ramones T-shirt. He may be 33, but he still looks and acts like a teenager. It's actually quite embarrassing sometimes. He walks over to the front door where I'm standing and slides his black boots on before looking up at me. His eyes quickly scan up and down my body before he looks at me with a dissaproving look.

"Isn't that a little too... revealing?" He asks. I roll my eyes and open the front door, heading towards his Range Rover parked in the driveway.

"Dad,come on! I'm sixteen, not six." I whine. I go to open the passenger door, but soon realized that it's locked. I turn around and look at my dad, who's standing on the front porch with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Go change." His deep voice demands. I roll my eyes and cross my arms.

"No. Dad we have to go! I'm gonna be late!" I say. He just stays stands there staring at me, trying to scare me into doing what he said. I stare back, not moving. We continue to stare at eachother for another few minutes before my dad sighs and walks towards the car. I smile proudly before hopping in the car. He starts the car and peels out of the driveway, heading towards my highschool.

"Just so you know, you're grounded for not listening." My dad says as we're stopped at a red light. I look over at him with wide eyes, opening my mouth to argue.

"What?! Because I didn't change my clothes? Dad that's ridiculous!" I shout. He just looks over at me. I pout my lips and give him my puppy eyes, knowing that will change his mind. He looks away and continues to drive. He looks at me out of the corner of his eyes a couple times while I continue to look at him. He finally groans and shakes his head, meaning he's giving in.That trick never gets old.

"Fine!" I smile and lean over to hug him.

"Thanks, Daddy." I say and lean back in my chair. Two minutes later we pull up to school. I lean over and kiss his cheek before getting my bookbag out of the back seat.

"Bye, Dad. I love you." I say and open my door to get out.

"Bye, baby girl. I love you, too." He says and smiles. I smile back and close the passenger door to head inside. As I head inside I hear my name being called. I turn around and see my three best friends, Miranda, Jade, and Lucas walking towards me.

"Hey guys! What's up?" I say and head towards my locker knowing their following me.

"Nothing much. Hey did you see the new kid? HOT!" Jade says. I laugh as Luke nudges her with a small pout.

"What about me?" He says. She quickly pecks his lips and leans into his side, his arm wrapping around her shoulders.

"Of course you're hotter, babe." She says. Jade and Luke have been dating for a little over a year and they were the cutest couple ever.

"So have you?" I turn to Miranda as she asks the question. Miranda was very pretty, but she always put her self down. I don't know why. She wasn't much of a talker, but she talks to me about everything. I guess it's because I'm a good listener. I suddenly remember what she asked and shake my head.

"No I haven't. What's his name?" I ask and close my locker. They walk me to my first period, seeing as they don't have that class with me.

"Tyler. He is soo cute! You guys would be cute together!" Jade yells, suddenly in the conversation again. I laugh and shake my head.

"No Jade. You know what happened last time you set me up." I say. We soon arrive at my World Geometry class and stop at the door.

"I told I was sorry! I didn't know he was gay! I swear!" Jade defends. I just shake my head and remember this kid that Jade set me up with. His name was Sean and I actually liked him. That was until he finally confessed that he was gay and that he had this massive crush on my DAD! Creep. Needless to say, I never talked to him again.

The bell rings and I look at Jade's pleading eyes one last time before shaking my head again. She huffs and drops the subject.

"Bye guys. See you at lunch." I say as I walk into the classroom and sit at my desk that is located at the back of the classroom. Ten minutes into the class, there is a loud knock at the door, interupting the teacher.

"Come in!" The teacher yells. The door opens and someone some steps in. As the young, teenage boy turns around, my heart skips a beat. He was gorgeous. He was fairly tall, 5'11 maybe and he had black hair and light grey eyes.

"This is Tyler Smith and he is new to the school. Please. everyone give him a warm welcome." Everyone in the class mutters a 'hi' and I just simply stare. I break out of my thoughts when I hear my name.

"Tyler, why don't you take a seat next to Cassandra in the back, Cassandra raise your hand!" I blush when Tyler turns his attention to me. I slightly raise my hand and put it back down when he walks towards me. As he sits next to me, he looks at me and opens his mouth to speak.

"Hi. I'm Tyler." He says and smiles at me. I swear I almost melted in my seat.

"C-Cassandra. But you can call me Cassie or Cass." I say shyly. I mentally curse myself for stuttering. 'Way to go, Cass. Way to go.'

"Okay. Cass." He smirks and turns to face the front of the class. I release a breath I didn't realize I was holding and slump down in my seat.

Damn.
