Back Again {Lando Norris} [3]

Scarlett and Max were in Bahrain for the opening race weekend of the 2021 Formula 1 season. Ever since Max had found out what Scarlett went through at New Year's he had been attached to her hip, and today was exactly the same since today would be the first time Scarlett had seen Lando since then

Today was media day at the paddock so the pair of Red Bull drivers were on their way to the conference hall where Scarlett, Mick, Lando and Sebastian would be answering questions

Christian Horner was also going to be hanging around the back of the room in case Scarlett ever became uncomfortable so he could pull her out 

The first round of questions were all fan questions sent in which were adorable and very sweet to see from the young fans. Then they moved on to journalist questions

"Scarlett," One of them said "You have been offline since January so of course I want to ask first how you're doing, and how you're feeling coming into this season,"

"I'm doing better," She replied and it was an honest answer "I'm not at 100% mentally but getting in the car makes me forget everything that's happened and I'm looking forward to just giving it my all this weekend."

"And what about this season?"

"I'm confident because we have a better car now and I'm confident we can be the dominant team this time around," She replied

"Yeah how's Mason?" Lando asked from his seat on the stage and Scarlett just sighed, she couldn't believe he had the nerve to ask that in front of everyone

"I wouldn't know actually," She replied curtly

"Oh so you haven't heard from him since-"

"Excuse me let me get on with my interview and if you have questions hold them until the end thanks," She snapped and leaned back in her chair. From the back of the room Christian was grinning under his mask and gave her a thumbs up which made her smile

Of course she hadn't expected Lando to hug her like all was okay but she certainly hadn't expected him to behave like this in front of everyone

When their interview was over Scarlett was the first driver out of her seat and the door to get away from everyone. But as she came out of the doors in a hurry, she was still a second too late to stop Max from grabbing Esteban by the collar and shoving him against the wall

"I can't believe you have the nerve to even show up here!" Max was shouting

"What the fuck is your problem?!" Esteban cried

"Do you want me to tell you right here?!" Max's tone was threatening and Scarlett knew he would do it

"Max!" She interrupted and both pairs of eyes turned to her. Feeling Esteban staring at her made her want to be sick and cry at the same time but she refused to give him that power over her "He's not worth it,"

"You're right," Max sighed and shoved Esteban against the wall once more before grabbing Scarlett by the arm and pulling her out of the building as fast as he could

From the exit to the press room Lando watched on with a confused look, he had noticed all day the way Scarlett was more tense than usual and the way Max followed her around like a puppy. And the scene before him had made him realise Esteban clearly had something to do with the way she was acting

Lando began to pick up his walking pace to try catch up to the Red Bull drivers but before he could reach them a hand was placed on his shoulder, putting enough force on it to halt him, so the young Brit turned around and came face to face with Christian Horner

"Don't go after her," The Red Bull chief said and Lando could see the concern in his eyes "Just give her space, today's hard enough on her and the only person she wants to be around is Max,"

"Look I know I hurt her by breaking up with her but she's clearly upset and I want to help-"

"I know you do and that's great to hear but please just let her come to you first," He continued

Lando didn't want to give up but Christian clearly knew what was going on and Lando knew how much Christian cared about his drivers, so he trusted his advice "Okay," He relented 

"Thank you," Christian smiled and walked off in the direction of the Red Bull paddock. By the time he got there Max and Scarlett were sprawled across two sofas and were laughing as though the incident earlier had never happened

He didn't want to ruin their happy moment so he chose not to bring it up and instead to get on with some work before he had to go back to the media building for the Formula 1 team bosses press conference

All the questions were simply about how they expected their cars to perform, what they thought the lack of fans would change, and how this season would be able to continue

Until "Christian," One journalist said "I know we spoke to Scarlett earlier and she said she feels prepared to race, but as her team boss do you think she's ready to race this season?"

"Absolutely," He nodded "She took the time off which helped her a lot and now she's more confident than ever so as long as she says she's ready, I've got complete faith in her,"
