It's around four o'clock in the late afternoon and the Cartoon Network is showing a rerun of 'Dexter's Laboratory'. The classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon where the redhead genius boy Dexter is busy experimenting and inventing in his secret lab. While his bubbly and sweet ballerina but can be annoying older sister Dee-Dee comes un-invitingly into his sanctuary, so to speak. There was a sigh in the living room. A girl with long African curls half dyed and eating some homemade Chinese food with Jamaican patties wished there was something better on. She looked at the channel guide and listing description. A bit bored by the upcoming television listings flickering across her eyes.

She has a beautiful face, Ebony brown eyes, fair skin and pouty mouth. The girl's name was Yvonna and she had been living with a homme who had fallen madly in love with her. This same homme who she was manipulating, yet had fallen for.

This is their story...

Yvonna had been living in the bordello down the block for two years now. No one in the area of town knew it was a bordello because it was old and had many rooms. Some people thought it was a boarding house. She was in need of money and no part time job in that area paid enough to support university studies and rent. Yvonna had been with many hommes in the bordello since the day she got there. She seduced them and they always got what they wanted. One thing which Yvonna never liked was when some tried to woo her into a relationship.

She didn't want that and preferred just doing what she did then. If any guy offered her a gift, she would gladly accept it, or give it to someone else. The patron of the bordello, Miss Gwenyth and she was like an aunt to the girl. Very supportive and always checked if everything was okay with her. Yvonna only worked during the evening and the same on weekends and holidays. Doing her college work was a priority as much as buying food and paying other needs.

The day Yvonna learned that the bordello was going to be undergoing renovations. Possibly would even have to change location if it got too expensive in rent. The news of this had bothered Yvonna, because she didn't want to be homeless. Her parents were out of town and the other girls had all found places to stay. Miss Gwenyth had a solution to Yvonna' problem, but it wouldn't be what Yvonna thought appropriate.

"You can stay at a friend of mine's place." Miss Gwenyth said happily.

Yvonna smiled and hugged her.

"That's great! Does she have enough room?" She asked

Miss Gwenyth turned her head.

"It's a he."

Yvonna went from smiling to frowning.

"His name is Kevin." She continued on.

Yvonna started to protest.

"No! I don't want to stay with a homme!"

"Yvonna, calm down. He is not what you think. I've known him for a long time. He's a gentleman and works in the field of science and publishing."

Yvonna began to feel more comfortable.

"He works all the time?"

"He does science as a teacher's aide in university. He has a part time job which involved publishing, I forgot what exactly."

The Kevin fellow sounded like he was an intelligent and accomplished person.

"Well, I guess staying with him won't be a problem."

Miss Gwenyth smiled.

"Excellent, I'll call him now and let him know."

Kevin was a very successful businessman as well as cultivated in the field of science and engineering. In the university he was a teacher's aide and helped explain how new technology and old wasn't too different. Plus how it could help in other fields such as medicine. His other job was a complete contrast to this. In the field of publishing, he was involved in helping to design covers for reprinted books such as 'Pride and Prejudice'.

With all the success that he had, you would think that he'd be married. Unfortunately he never was. It wasn't that he never found the girl of his dreams, he just hadn't been with someone who was worthy of his love. He wanted to settle down, it just didn't seem like it was going to happen right away.

There were friends who even tried to hook him up with someone. The thought was appreciated but the dates never turned out well. He had friends both male and female and some of the ladies were ideal to be his. But he knew when a girl would just be a friend from a partner. Kevin remembers the day he met Gwenyth not once did he think of her as a potential girlfriend.

Gwenyth had actually helped Kevin get the book the 'G-string Murders' have new covers.

He wished he had a girl similar to the female lead in that story. The day he learned about Yvonna, it came as a surprise.

"Hi Kevin, how are you?" Gwenyth asked.

"I'm doing well, thanks."He said with a smile.

"I was wondering, are you looking for a roommate?" She asked, hopefully.

The irony couldn't have come at a better time.

"Actually, I've been looking for one for quite some time now."

"Great!"

"May I ask who the person is?"

"It's a girl who I know, she's a university student."
