Yvonna decided to head home right after her meal. Ignoring Kevin and whatever looks Milus and Gwenyth gave her. Her cellphone had vibrated, indicating a text message. It was from the very homme on her mind.

I want us to have dinner together.

Yvonna thought for a moment then replied.

Sure. Which restaurant? Or a new one, I want to try the one near my home.

She awaited his reply, but it took more than five minutes. Kevin was thinking over what to say and finally messaged back.

I want you to come to my place. Tonight at eight o'clock.

Yvonna dropped the cellphone suddenly. His response only meant one thing: he was on to her.

It's around four o'clock in the late afternoon and the Cartoon Network is showing a rerun of 'Dexter's Laboratory'. The classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon where the redhead genius boy Dexter is busy experimenting and inventing in his secret lab. While his bubbly and sweet ballerina but can be annoying older sister Dee-Dee comes un-invitingly into his sanctuary, so to speak. There was a sigh in the living room. A girl with long African curls half dyed and eating some homemade Chinese food with Jamaican patties wished there was something better on. She looked at the channel guide and listing description. A bit bored by the upcoming television listings flickering across her eyes.

She has a beautiful face, Ebony brown eyes, fair skin and pouty mouth. The girl's name was Yvonna and she had been living with a homme who had fallen madly in love with her. This same homme who she was manipulating, yet had fallen for.

This very same girl was living a double life as an escort named Carmen. Yvonna thought watching something on the TV would calm her down. One of the segments of this classic show she liked didn't help matters. The episode with Dee Dee trying to make Dexter more like her was hitting close to home.

She was like the boy genius in a way. Smart yes, but she was crossing a dangerous territory.

This time alone gave Yvonna enough to think things through. She didn't want to, but she knew that what she felt was real. She replied to Kevin after not doing so earlier.

Yes, at your place eight o'clock is fine.

The evening came with a blink of an eye. Kevin arrived home and immediately started to prep and cook the dinner. He thought over the last couple of weeks that he had with the lady on his mind. His cellphone vibrated, and he checked it and saw it was Milus.

How are you doing, Kev?

Milus knew that his co-worker needed some cheering up after the encounter at the restaurant. Not that Kevin was annoyed by him asking how he was.

I'm keeping my spirits up, Mil.

He checked on the food cooking and everything was coming along great.

Have you found a solution to the 'Gone with the Wind' modern cover yet?

With everything that was happening, Kevin completely forgot about that. Until an idea crossed his mind.

I think I know who will be perfect for it. I'll let you know tomorrow morning.

Of course, in order for this idea to work. The person in question would have to talk to him about more important matters.

It was already eight o'clock and Kevin had everything setup and ready. When he heard the door knock he walked over to dim the light switch. Kevin opened the door and there stood the intoxicating beauty he was infatuated with.

"Hello Carmen." He said, softly.

Yvonna smiled and strode inside.

"Hi Kevin." She said in her Celtic accent, but quietly.

They didn't speak another word as they both headed towards the dinner that he made. Throughout the dinner they both sat quietly as if they were in Church. Numerous thoughts going through their heads. Deception and passion, the double life and secret but one important thing of all.  Was what they felt real?

After the dinner was over and Kevin took away the plates they both sat down.

Like synchronized swimmers they spoke.

"I want to ask you something." They both said to each other.

Kevin spoke first.

"Carmen, I meant what I said. I am in love with you. But in order for this to work I want to know if you feel the same."

Yvonna knew that she couldn't do this anymore. There was no point in deceiving him any longer. Kevin walked over to hear and looked directly into her eyes. Yvonna felt nothing but guilt now as much as the other emotion building inside.

"Yes, I am falling in love with you Kevin. I didn't want to admit it then." She told him.

She caressed his cheek gently with one hand. He took hold of it and held it tightly.

"Then tell me the truth, are you actually called Carmen?"

Yvonna spoke but this time, in her actual voice.

"No. It's me, Yvonna."
