About a few minutes later she comes back with a notepad and pencil ready. I ordered a regular burger and fries meal and she was on her way. I looked out the window and stared at the empty parking lot, the lonely sky, and the street lamps. I thought it all looked depressing and hopeless. Having to work here on night shift and that's your view, while I get to look at a busy street with bright sun. I didn't even realize it, but the waitress had came back. "Here. One classic Sunshine burger and fries platter." The enthusiasm I was greeted with in her voice was partially gone. She walked off and stood at a counter, talking to the chef who was on shift. I quit my gazing and began eating. Eating fast makes me slightly queasy but I felt bad for these two employees staying so late. about 15 minutes later I finished and left the waitress a $10 tip to be nice. I paid on my way out and walked out to my car. The air was even colder now, a light fog setting in. I got in and yawned. I longed for my warm bed and cozy blanket. I started the car and it sputtered at first but soon its engine started rather loudly.

I started my route home and took my usual turns down certain roads...
