I screamed into the empty cold air. I cried for quite a while. I had no idea how long I laid back my seat and cried. Minutes. Hours. Who knows? All I know is that time seemed to move excruciatingly slow. I finally gathered myself and walked exhaustingly into the diner. The same waitress, Betty greeted me. "Hi welcome to the Sunshine Diner my name is Betty, how may I help you?" same tone. same smile. same tired eyes. I grabbed the woman by the shoulders harshly. "Is this some sick joke?" Immediately fear had filled her face. "What are you talking about?" She squeaked. "Is this a sick fucken joke?! Is it?! I came here a while ago for just a fucking burger, and when I drove home I ended up right back fucking here!" I screamed, my voice cracked. "Excuse me are you drunk?" Betty asked concerned. "You don't remember me?!" Tears filled my vision, causing it to blur. "Please sit down." I felt numb. A deafening silence so powerful it made my head hurt filled my ears. Betty brought over a coffee and muffin. I picked at the muffin and ignored the coffee. I was sat in the same booth as before. I wept until I fell asleep.
