MANDA'S POV:

"Sooo... you landed on your hand when you fell, and broke two fingers?" Dad asked, pulling into the driveway once I was checked out at the hospital.

"Yep." I looked down at the two tiny finger casts. They were so cute... but so stupid.

"How weird." Mom said, helping me out.

"Mom, I'm fine." I lightly pushed her away.

"Look, I know your in pain, but..." Mom started, then looked over at Dad.

"We're taking the whole family camping!"

My mouth opened.

"What the hell?"

ALEXA'S POV:

"You got suspended?" Mom gasped. "For punching another student?"

I started at the ceiling.

"PAY ATTENTION!" Mom slapped the table. I jerked up.

"You are grounded from your iPhone, iPad, MacBook, TV, iPod, your car, and your friends FOR A MONTH!"

"No!" I gasped.

"Yes. Now go to your room."

"I WILL GLADLY, YOU LITTLE FUCKER!"

"DO NOT TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!"

I ran upstairs. I slammed the door of my room and ran to my bed.

I cried.

Why couldn't my friends understand that I liked Max? Why did I get in trouble when they were bullying me?

The phone rang downstairs. Mom answered it, and talked for a few minutes. I heard some of what she was saying, being a professional eavesdropper.

"...and she got suspended! Yeah, she's grounded! Oh. Oh. Ok, I guess. Bonding time. Don't let her use any electronics or cars."

Mom opened the door soon later.

"For you."

"Hello?" I put my ear up to the phone.

"Lexa!"

"Dad!"

"Listen, I heard that you got in trouble..."

"Uh huh."

"...And Mom was wondering, why did you do it?"

I blanked. "Uh... I... I was mad, and lost control."

"Oh."

Silence.

"Anyway." Dad continued. "I was wondering, that if, for bonding time, you would like to go camping?"

I gasped. Camping? I was not a wilderness gal.

"Uh..."

"It's not in the middle of a bush. It has a beach, and a few playgrounds, and a candy store, and a sports court!"

"That's not camping."

"It is. Just with luxuries."

"Ok, I guess."

"You have a day left of school, right?"

"Yeah. I'm suspended tomorrow and all of the first week of school."

"Ok. We're going next Sunday. Until the Saturday."

"Ok. Love you."

"Kisses. Bye."

CASSIE'S POV:

I was not hurt. At all.

But Steven was.

He was dead.
~~~~~~~~~~
"To clear your mind, we've decided to take you camping." Mom and Dad said, the day after Steven's funeral, the day after the last day of school.
"Camping? Where?"
"We don't know yet. We're booking tonight."
"Oh. Thank you! I love camping."
PARKER'S POV:
"Camping?" I said. Mom, Dad, and my sister Katie had told me just moments before.
"Yeah!" Katie, my five-year-old sister pranced around. "Hooray!"
"Next week." Dad said.
Shit.
I. Hate. Camping.
