There is something we can do...
•••You lie still in your bed. You couldn't hear their voices coming from downstairs. You couldn't feel anything. Like your deep slumber sent you into a trance.
The darkness of your eyes clouded out. You saw her again. She'd been in your dreams lately, it was both a curse and blessing. The night sky lit up her face. The stars mocked the highlights in her eyes. She glimmered. Her ethereal glow never seemed to fade. It only grew brighter in the mist of the night.
You smiled, closing your eyes for only a second or two. Finding yourself running towards her, getting closer but she seemed to be drifting further. The unknown rule was she can come to you, but you can't come to her. You pleaded with your eyes just before she gave you her hand reaching out to you.
Her grip was light. She knew how much pain you had endured. There was no talking, but that was soon to break. She looked at your wrists. The same ones you had just cut hours before. She traced them with her finger. Planting a gentle kiss on each one, they seemed to disappear. One by one. And with each scar departing from existence, a weight of pain and regret withdraw from your shoulders.
You felt light again. You felt like your childhood self who had no boundaries or responsibilities to worry about, or a past to hold you back. You were free. The chains had broken. "Pain is unknown to you now my love." She cupped your cheeks still keeping her soft touch.
Her eyes became glassy. Like her heart, it was fragile, made of porcelain. Like a dish sitting in someone's hands waiting to be dropped and shattered, scattering beneath the person responsible. You couldn't put together why she was so sad. You were there. She was close. Nothing was holding you two back from staying like this.
"Y/N." You felt a touch on your shoulder. Then she spoke again. "Open your eyes sweetheart." The embodiment of her started to fade and you watched it all happen again. A spark of every pain, every love, flashed before your eyes. Then she was gone. You were alone in the night. Now the stars mocked the highlights in your eyes. You glimmered in the night sky.
———"Y/N! Wake up! Please." A blonde shook your body. At first it was light. Then it became more aggressive. The worry in their face shining through.
The blonde? Cordelia Goode.
What was the "something" they could do to save you? Bring her back. There was no question that Cordelia made you safe. She kept you going. It was the fact that she never told you that you did the same for her. Though you didn't remember saying your last goodbyes to her in her final moments. She kept going for you. You were her only reason.
She was sick at the time, everyone had mistaken her pain of loosing you for the life being sucked out of her because of you.
So for the questions you asked yourself everyday; Was it my fault? Is it her fault? Was I a coward for my actions? The answer? It was nobody's fault. Not yours. Not Cordelia's. But maybe the gods above in charge of possibilities and love. The gods of Certainty. It was always certain that you'd be the supreme and Cordelia would fall. But it was always the possibility of love that made you do it all.
Love was your motivation.
And no you were not a coward. You just wanted to be happy again. It was an innocence at the most.
You were out. You didn't know that Misty had given her soul to bring your Delia back. "Misty don't" Myrtles attempts at stopping her were useless in the end. "I promised to keep that girl safe. If this is the only way then so be it." Addressing the elephant in the room; everyone knew you were better off with Cordelia then anyone else. That's just the cold truth and the truth always comes out.
Misty was gone Cordelia was back. She was leaning over your body that laid on the bed, you had attached yourself to one of her pillows, the sent of her still lingered. "please, wake up." Cordelia's eyes dropped those shattered pieces of glass. Falling from her cheek to yours.
It seemed unreal that a fallen supreme was back. This had never occurred in the history of the coven. I guess nobody really had love as a motivator like you. "Y/N!" Cordelia grabbed your hand hoping that the sudden contact would awaken you. She was wrong.
You were stuck. In the dream with out her. You had finally gotten to her she was in reach of you, then she was gone once again. Part of you thought; this is how it is now. Then the other half fought against it. It was almost as if you and Cordelia had switched roles. She now begged you to come back to her, and you. Oh you, were stuck with low chance of returning. It would take a miracle.
You fought with any strength left in you. You didn't want your pain to inflict onto anyone else. Who ever it maybe on the other side, they didn't deserve it. Putting so much intent into coming back or at least in a world with the blonde that owned your heart to its entirety.
What would the coven do with a supreme? What would Cordelia do without you. All the ability she once held was flowing through your veins, yet you didn't have enough power to come back. You were unreachable.
Don't give up. Remember when you promised? All the times you tried and she wouldn't let you. Did you doubt her at any moment? She would never let you break a promise.
You screamed out for her. Crying with no stopping. "Cordelia! Please."
What you failed to know, to sense was she too was pleading out in soft whispers of defeat. "Y/N." It was quiet. Almost too quiet, but you heard it. You began to pick up on your feeling again. You felt her tears drip onto your skin. Her voice that echoed through each ear. You thought you had died this time. How is she-? Your mind was working again..it was just opening the eyes that she so badly missed. If it was all a dream it would be hard to recover from, being set up for loss yet again.
You felt your eyes fluttering. Cordelia noticed your movements she let out a cry relief. "Come on, stay with me." If only she could have done that the first time and none of this would have happened. "Its okay, keep going." Keep going. You twitched your nose slightly before opening your eyes meeting the woman that was Unreachable for so long.
You grabbed each other bringing your bodies into the others embrace. Her grip was strong. "You're safe now" Cordelia wasnt going to let slip away and neither were you. "Im not letting you go." You whispered into the crook of her neck. Although she couldn't see your face, there was no doubt you smiled full of serenity. You both were at peace once again. And this time it was real.
Because in the end, those that are meant to be will find their way back. Things that were unreachable at one point will be reachable. And miracles do happen.
•••A/N~ and that my friends is the end.
