It's Just Us and My Brother Against the World

Our final day

Sure. Some people have everything they want handed to them on a sliver platter, but not everyone. I have gone through a bad childhood, it wasn't as bad as some people's but it was still pretty bad.
Hi I'm Alex. My life is pretty fucked up, but I have to make due with what I have. Not to get any pity but I am being abused. And by my own mother! My mother doesn't like me at all after my dad left her when she told him she was pregnant with me. Yeah so I went through lots of trauma, im not going too deep into that. Anyways, so about 5 or 6 years ago my mom started dating someone else.  Everything was going good actually. She ended up have my brother Noah about 3 years ago, his dad didn't leave when he found out. His dad just recently left my mom after finding out about her buying drugs.
Ok, tragic backstory is over now. Now we get back to our skeduled program, it's our last day.

I wake up to the sound of something being thrown, then a door being slammed. My mom stormed out of the house to go do who knows what. I hear the soft cries of my brother, who was in his own bed on the other side of my room. I quickly get up, shuffling over to him," Honey, it's ok," I pick him up while slowly swaying him back and forth. I walk back over to my bed with Noah in my hands, I grab my phone off the charger and call my best friend, Izzy.
She picks up almost immediately," what's up? Usually you don't call me for another half an hour," she says over the phone.
"My mom stormed out of the house again, are we still going through with tonight?" I ask while I start to get my brother ready for the day.
"Yep, I'm packing my last few bags now."
"I have me and Noah's stuff all together, just let me know when you get here," I play with Noah to keep him occupied.
"I will do, I'll be there in about 20 minutes."
"Ok, I'll see you then," I smile before hanging up.
