Chapter 5

"Today is the day, i'm off to new places, i'm off and away, on to route one, flollowing a path, why do these days, never last?" Yes, this was I, Winter, trying to recite a book I once saw and adding my own things. "Flare! Fare!" I looked down at Blaze, my new Flareon. "Look Blaze, we are nearly at Viridian City!" Blaze started yapping. Over night, we camped at the start of the long route one and Blaze ot no sleep at all beacause of the stupid Weedles.

"Hey! Winter! We were looking for you!" I turned around to see Jonah and Lotusrunning towards me. "I can't believe you survived that blast!" I looked at the grinning Lotus. "Well? What happend to Prof. Oak?" I looked down then at Jonah. "he was gone. The blast knocked me out cold so when I woke up, he was gone."

I looked at the sudden frowning faces of my two conpanions. "So, where is Harley?" I said to lighten up the mood. Lotus started laughing. "He, Um... Uh..."

"Get to the point!" Lotus continued to giggle. "He is in hospital," Jonah explained. "He was, uh, wreseling witha beedrill." I burst into laughter. "Oh my Arceus! That was so stupid!" Lotus fell on the floor, laughing, when she heard my sentance. Even Jonah managed to smile.

"So, what starter did you get?" Jonah asked me as Lotus stood up. "I got Squirtle, Lotus got Bulbasaur and guess what Harley got." I groaned. "Thats a deadly duo." I remarked. A small dark patch in the trees caught my eye, I wanted to go to is and see what is was. "Yes, yes it is." I turned around to Jonah and shrugged off te feeling.

"So what Pokemon did you get?" I could tell something was wrong with Jonah but I brushed it off. "Oak gave me three Pokeballs containing Flareon, Leafeon and Vaporeon. I took a random one." Lotus nodded. "Flare, Flare, Flareon!" Our heads all turned to Blaze, who was annoying some Weedles. "Gender?" Jonah asked. "Female." We started to slow our pace.

"Well we better go to Viridian City to get our first gym badge! I can't wait to battle Giovani, or was it Blue?" I laughed.  "It's Giovanni, Lotus, but Blue will become the leader in the next few weeks!" I snorted. "Giovanni is too strong! He controlled freakin' Mewtwo! Blue cannot even control a Magikarp!" Everyone lauhed at my comment.

"Wait guys! Don't we have to battle seven gyms and get the badges before we battle Giovanni?" Lotus and i looked over at Jonah. "Screw you!" Lotus punched Jonah in the arm. "Hey! What was that for?" Lotus punched him again. "I'm gonna beat him first!" Jonah srugged. "Fine then. You'll get humiliated!" Lotus grunted. "And you will always be my personal punching bag!" Jonah poked his toung out. "I hate you guys." I walked faster so they were a bit behind me.

"Flare! Flare!" I looked at my Flareon as she tugged on my shoelace. "Blaze, whats wrong?" The small Eeveelution. "Rawf!" Small growls came from both Lotus's and Jonah's bags. "What the-" A bright light appered on the ground. "Squirter! Bulb!" I turned around to see the starters of my friends out of their Pokeballs.

"Squirter? Bulb? Thats the names your giving them?!" Both Jonah and Lotus looked embarassed. "Grrr!" All three of the Pokemon were growling. "Ok guys, what do we do now?" Jonah looked past me. "I think we have other things to worry about." I turned around. There was a cloaked figure right behind us. "Give me the girl." I was horiffied and giving the high pitched noise behind me, so was everyone else. "RUN!"

I can admit, I was much fitter that Jonah and a little faster than Lotus but this thing behind us was fast. I turned around. There was no leg movement, just it floating there. Wait one second. I thought. My mind flashed back to the recent Kalos sightings of 'Ghost Girl', a girl that moves with no legs and always says "No, you are not the one."

My mind flashed back to the small hole in the group of trees, of concealed. What is it? Could it be a hiding place? "No! YOu are not the one!" I didn't realise Jonah had fallen behind. 'Ghost Girl' Pushed him out of the was and he landed on top of a fallen tree trunk.

The hole came closer. I ran harder as a small stich becam a larger one in my chest. "Winter! Help!" Her voice was cut out by a muffled laugh. I could see in the corner of vision, Lotus, her body sprawled on a rock and Blaze, oh little Blaze, was nowhere to be seen.

A sudden hand rabed me. I tripped over my laces and fell face first. My pokeball was suddenly in my hand, Blaze inside of it. I crawled back until my I hit the tree behind me. "Yes, you are the one." The hole was just beside me. It looked more like a portal?! I suddenly got a crazy idea. "No. I'm. Not." I jumped in the portal.

Swirls of colours came to me. My dream came back to me. I was Falling.

Falling.

Falling.

The heat of my Pokeball burned my hand. Blaze. Without thinking I threw the sphere as high as I could. My body started burning. A world of liquids started forming an unknown dimention. Blocks. My nightmare came back to me. This time it was real. Falling.

Falling.

Falling.
