Count On You

After the word exited Chat's mouth, we all held on to each other. He looked back at us, and we braced for whatever was about to happen next. The black magic swirled over Chat's hand. 

"You may still have some part of Mother, but I lost her a long time ago," he grabbed the butterfly miraculous, destroying it. "I can't hurt more people, that would just hurt me more." Nooroo flew out of the miraculous, flying over to where we were standing. 

"Adrien, what have you done?" Gabriel raised a hand, poised to hit the boy. Chat grabbed his arm. 

"Father, I won't let you control me anymore. Now that I've seen you as a supervillain, I'm not all that impressed. It's my life, and I'm going to live it the way I want. You're lucky I haven't turned you in to the police yet," he turned back, standing with us. "Come on, he's not worth the trouble." We followed Chat's lead out of the Lair. 

"Well that was incredibly anti-climatic," Alya remarked. 

"I didn't even get to find out what my powers were!" I frowned. Marinette put her arm around Adrien. 

"Are you okay?" she asked. 

"Not at all," he laughed. "I just found my mom in a coma and my dad's a supervillain." Marinette looked at him sadly. "But in all honesty, this is the first time I've ever felt like a true hero. And we definitely have some things to talk about, Mari-bug." I watched the two of them smile at each other. I handed my miraculous back to Marinette. 

"Thank you, Marinette," I smiled. 

"Thank you for all of your help, Stephie," she grinned back. I felt warmth surround me, and the next morning I woke up in my own bed. I found a sticky note in my pocket.

I put the numbers in my phone, smiling to myself.
