Meteors crash down all around on the moon. Sylvie sits on a stone, watching the planet get closer. You and Loki walk over and sit beside her. "I'm sorry." You said. "I remember Asgard. Not much, but I remember. My home, my people, my life. The universe wants to break free, so it manifests chaos. Like me being born the Goddess of Mischief. And as soon as that created a big enough detour from the Sacred Timeline, the TVA showed up, erased my reality, and took me prisoner. I was just a child. I escaped. Stole a TemPad and I ran for a long, long time, which really sucked. Everywhere and every-when I went, it caused a nexus event. Sent up a smoke flare. Because I'm not supposed to exist. Until, eventually, I figured out where to hide. And so that's where I grew up, the ends of a thousand worlds. Now... that's where I'll die." She said. Massive portions of the planet begin breaking apart and crashing onto the moon. "Not long now. Do you think that what makes a Loki a Loki is the fact that we're destined to lose?" She asked.
"No. We may lose. Sometimes painfully. But we don't die. We survive. I mean, you did. You were just a child when the TVA took you, but you nearly took down the organization that claims to govern the order of time. You did it on your own. You ran rings around them. You're amazing!" Loki said. "He's got a point." You smile at her. Loki looks up at you. A massive meteor crashes before them and the shockwave comes their way. You and Loki take each others' hand as you both look on. You both turn back to each other and you smile. Timedoors open behind you, Loki and Sylvie. You three stand and face them. You, Loki and Sylvie are all collared and being escorted by Minutemen and Mobius through the TVA. Loki and Sylvie are led down a different hallway, and they look back at you as they're pulled away. "Well?" Mobius asked. "Well what?" You snapped. "I know you got some quip you're dyin' to say." He said. "I don't have a quip. I've got nothing to say." You said. "Come on." He teased.
"By the way, I should have an equal amount of security. This is insulting!" You protested. "You just can't help yourself." He said. "You betrayed us!" You accused. "You betrayed me!" He threw back. "Oh grow up!" You snapped. "You grow up." He said. You all enter Time Theater 5. "You know, it occurred to me that you're not really an Avenger." He said. "Oh, here it comes. The folksy, dopey insult from the folksy dope. What am I? A villain? A traitor?" You asked. "Just kind of an asshole and a bad friend. Yeah, chew on that for a little bit. All right. It's ready." He said. A red-framed Timedoor opens before you. "What is this?" You asked. "You'll see." He said. "Mobius!" You begged. "Okay. No, no, no, let her, one last desperate plea from one of the strongest Avengers. Go ahead." He said. "The TVA is lying to you." You said. "Put her in." He said. "No." You struggle but are pushed through the door.
Time Skip
"Fancy technology. Threatening interrogation tactics. Seems you and I are in a loop of our own." You said. "Well, there's been a lot of water under the bridge since then." Mobius said. "Certainly has." You said. "Okay, you said the TVA is lying to me. Go ahead. Or is that just a cockroach's survival mechanism kicking in?" He asked. "Let me out of this place, stop beating me up, and I'll tell you." You said. "Cockroach. Got it. How long have you been working for the Variants?" He questioned. "Me? Working for them? Please." You scoffed. "If you're not working for the Variants, what are they? Your partners?" He asked. "Absolutely not. They're difficult and irritating, and they try to hit me all the time. No. Not partners, no." You said. "Yeah, I guess you don't do partners, unless you count The Avengers." He said. "Why don't you just tell me what caused the nexus event on Lamentis?" He asked. "Let me say this again. I'm not going to tell you just so you can turn around immediately afterwards and prune me." You said.
"I guess we've reached a dead end then. Okay, it's over. I'm going to miss these little tete-a-tetes." He said. "Me, too." You said sarcastically. "One girl playing checkers, you, old Mobius playing chess, but, yeah. Have fun in there." He said. "What... No. What? No, no, no. Please, not... Well, just wait, wait, wait." You begged. "Yeah?" Mobius asked. "She came to me a long time ago and then she took me to one of her apocalypses and that's where we hatched our plan together." You lied. "Which is?" He asked. "Coming along very nicely, thank you." You said. "And the Variants?" He asked. "Doesn't matter. They're pawns. Something very, very big is gonna happen. And when it does, I'll dispose of them." You lied again. "Well, we saved you the trouble there. They've already been pruned. So assume I do set you free..." he continued. Your eyes widened in horror as you looked at him. "Hang on, wait. What'd you just say?" You asked. "What? Assume I do set you free." He repeated. "The Variants. They're gone?" You asked.
