Tom instantly rushed to his room right after he got the time to admire the living room. There was so many hidden compartments and details that he was hoping were included like where he kept his beloved bass, Susan. He approached his door and opened it with anticipation. His dark sockets widened when he saw the room.
As the rest of the house was, it was identical to his old room, minus the big pieces of furniture that were coming in the moving van and the alcohol spills that resided in the carpet and most likely seeped into the ceiling below. With hope, he walked over to where Susan was kept in his old room and surprisingly saw the exact compartment, retina scanning technology and all.
Like a child on Christmas morning, he quickly pulled his bass out of one of the huge boxes Matt packed and tested it out. He smiled after noticing that it worked perfectly! He giggled as he opened it back up and took Susan out, kissing the cold, scuffed surface of the metal.
"Ok, Tom." He thought, his smile remaining. "Time to actually start setting things up."
Meanwhile, Matt was shocked when he walked into his room. Of course it was the same as his old one, but that wasn't the most shocking part. He hardly remembered what his old room looked like. It hasn't been clean in years. He was surprised the architects were able to even make sense of the pictures.
He took a moment to admire the clean room before unpacking his stuff. His first resort was of course getting all his mirrors in order, next setting up all the pictures of himself he collected, then his beloved novelty toy collection that he's been adding to for years. Of course there was a lot more to unpack, but he decided to take a break and see how his friends were doing.
He first went to Tom's room. He always had a strong liking for him, stronger than just a friendship. You could even call it a crush. He opened the door to see his friend sitting on his sleeping bag, his hoody over his shoulder. As he noticed Matt walk in, he looked up with a smile.
"Matt! Good to see you!" He beamed. Tom wasn't the nicest to Matt most of the time, but he couldn't help but grasp him in a hug after all the good he did for all of them. As he unwrapped his arms around the tall man, he noticed that his cheeks were dusted pink.
"Wait.. why's he blushing?" Tom thought. "Does he like me or something?"
"Nah, Matt likes girls, dummy. He had a failed date with one."
He decided to push away the train of thought and switch back to his main one, the house. Matt was dead silent, still blushing the slightest bit, so Tom decided to start the conversation.
"So, how's your room going?" He asked. Matt snapped back into reality, blinking a few times to get his mind back in line.
"Oh, it's great!" He said. "I'm taking a short break from unpacking but it looks amazing so far!"
"Yeah, so am I." Tom explained. "I'm nowhere near done as you can tell." He said with a laugh.
"Yeah, it looks nice though!" Matt complimented. He was happy that Tom was being so nice, he only ever acted like this when he's drunk.
"Well, I should get going." Matt announced. "I'm gonna go check on Edd, I'll see you!"
"See ya." Tom said with a grin.
Matt danced down the hall. He couldn't believe how sweet Tom was being, it warmed his heart. Tom has never sincerely hugged him before and boy did it feel good when he did, especially since Matt was slowly falling for him.
Scratch that, he has fallen for him. It was undeniable. He has been crushing on him since high school after all, it was just now blossoming from a childlike crush to being in love with him.
He quickly shifted his focus back to checking up on Edd, he opened his door and noticed that he was already done setting up his room and moved on to sitting on his beanbag, Ringo on his lap and a can of cola in his hand.
"Hey, Edd!" Matt called, triggering Edd to look up.
"Oh, hey there, Matt!" He responded.
"So, how do you like the new house?" Matt asked.
"It's incredible!" Edd cheered. "I'm still amazed on how identical everything is to the old house, it's perfect!"
"I'm glad you like it!" Matt applauded. He stopped to think.
"Would it be a bad time to tell him how I feel about Tom?" He puzzled in his head. "I want him to know since he might be able to help me get with him but now might not be a good time.."
"Screw it, now might be the only time you have alone."
Edd noticed Matt's nervous expressions.
"You ok?" He asked with concern.
"Uh.. yeah, just a teensy question.." Matt said. "If I.. supposedly.. metaphorically speaking.. got into a relationship with Tom, how would you feel?" He asked, playing with his hoody sting. "Cause... I'm kinda sorta in love with him." He hid his face.
Edd paused and took a long sip of his soda. Matt expected him to have a surprised or some kind of bold reaction, but he was totally casual.
"Oh yeah, I know." He said after swallowing his drink. Matt was surprised.
"W-what?! How'd you know?" He asked.
"I mean, how could I not?" Edd responded with a laugh. "Your reaction that one time he simply said you're alright, you single-handedly blew up a space ship powered by self esteem!" He chuckled. "Plus, you named your favorite toy after him!"
Matt blushed slightly from embarrassment. He did make it a bit obvious.
"Yeah.. I could've hid it better." he responded, awkwardly laughing along.
"Yeah, anyways, you done setting up your room?" Edd asked.
"Oh, yeah." Matt recalled. "I should probably get back to work on that, I'll see you later!"
Edd waved. "Bye, Matt."
Right when Matt got back to his room, he started unpacking the last of his stuff, but the whole time he couldn't stop thinking about Tom. After coming to terms with his feelings, his thoughts and fantasies about him multiplied.
These thoughts made him happy, but a big one suddenly hit him like a Boulder.
"Wait.. what if he's straight?" Matt thought.
He thought about it for a moment. He always thought liking the same gender was normal and that everyone felt the same as him. He never really saw it as something "unusual" or "abnormal" until he told other people and he was still confused on why it was seen that way.
Tom on the other hand always got frantic when someone joked about him being gay. Matt knows he isn't homophobic, when he told him about his sexuality he didn't mind, so he's either scared to tell anyone his real sexuality or is just really passionate about his heterosexuality.
Matt tried not to let the thoughts take him over, he decided to text Tom to see if he was done with his room. He thought that coming into his room to ask might be a bit pushy, so he texted him.

Matt TomHey, how's your room
going?It's done
That's great! Wanna meet
downstairs? I'll see if Edd
wants to come too!Yeah sure
——————————————————As planned, the three met downstairs to look at the rest of the house. Matt had so many questions he wanted to ask Tom regarding the thoughts he's been having, but now wouldn't be the time.
Back to the house, every room, as expected, was the exact same as the old house. It didn't quite surprise them anymore but it was still incredible.
"So, now that we have our old house back, we should do something special that we'd always do!" Edd requested. "Like.. one of our signature adventures!"
"That would be amazing!" Matt cheered. "What do you think, Tom?" He threw his arm around him.
Tom completely froze, blushing. Matt abruptly pulled his arm away.
"Nice one, Matt, you made him uncomfortable." He thought. Tom was still frozen in place, silent.
"Tom..?" Matt whispered, coming a bit closer to him. Tom shook his head and broke out of his rosy daze.
"Oh, yeah!" He said. "An adventure would be great!"
"Ok!" Edd cheered, his friends following him outside to get in the car.
