Chapter 29: Sweet Baby

It's been 4 weeks since Prince and  his family have returned home from Puerto Rico. While they were away, Prince secretly made arrangements to start up Angel's new restaurant. After he gifted her the restaurant, he started thinking about ideas to start it up. One thing was certain: no matter what kind of restaurant it would be, the only recipes the chef had to use,were those of his wife. After exchanging ideas with his wife, they came up with the name and style. The name of the restaurant would be :"La Cocina Angelita" , which means "Angel's Kitchen". It would feature a weekly jazz jam session, which means that Angel would perform once in a while alongside her husband. Prince already had a list of performers he wanted to jam with . Angel wrote down all her recipes and taught the head chef all he needed to know. She was also adamant to taste every prepared dish before it was served, to make sure they were exactly how she would make them. She was very excited to have her own restaurant and would make sure that her customers would feel at home. Which is why the decor of La Cocina Angelita had to give a homey vibe.

She wanted to participate in everything, but because she was pregnant, Prince wasn't having it. She needed to rest,so he took charge of all the preparation and made sure all her ideas were incorporated in the furnishing of the restaurant. For the past 4 weeks, Prince and his team worked tirelessly to make this restaurant perfect, just as his wife imagined. He also had some friends over to rehearse the musical part of the grand opening. Today is the day of the opening and Prince got up early to make breakfast for his wife, who was still asleep. He remembered all her stomach issues from her pregnancy with the twins, so he made sure she wouldn't have them this time around. He made her some oatmeal with almonds and berries and made her some herbal tea.

While he was in the kitchen,he saw that Christine had already taken care of Izzy and Mimi. As he watched his twins with Christina, he realized how fast they've grown. They were almost two and they could speak full sentences.

They noticed him and happily ran to him.
"Mownin' daddy" they said in unison.
"Good morning kids,would you like some breakfast?"
"Yes daddy we want bwekfast" Izzy replied,while Mimi shook her head in agreement.
"Alrighty then, I'll make you some pancakes. How does that sound?"
"Yaayyy...." they responded. They loved pancakes and Prince made his kids and Christine some pancakes before heading upstairs to his wife. Angel started to wake up and smiled at her wonderful husband. After all this time he still made her heart skip a beat when he looked at her.
"Good morning Mama,did you sleep well?"
"Yeah ....I did" she said while trying to sit up. This proved to be a real challenge and Prince helped her.
" I made you breakfast"
"Aww...so sweet. After all this time you still make me breakfast?"
"Of course . Anything to make you smile. Besides,I have to make sure you and our little princess are well fed"
He gave her her food and watched her as she enjoyed every bite of it. Man,he loved this woman....She noticed him admiring her and started blushing,which made him chuckle.
"After all these years, you're still blushing for me Mama?"
" Yeah..." she replied shyly, " you have that effect on me". She leaned on his shoulder and started sniffing him. He knew what that meant. He started to smile and made love to his wife. After they were satisfied,they took a bath and went downstairs. Dom and James were coming over ,as well as Mayte and Gary. Dom was already 39 weeks pregnant and had to go to the hospital tomorrow for admission if she had no signs of contractions today. After they all arrived ,their little friend circle was complete. The women kept each other company while the men prepared for the big event. Everything was going as planned until Dom felt a sharp pain in her stomach . Angel noticed the change in her facial expression.
" Dom, what's wrong? Are you having contractions?"
"Yeah...yeah I think so...-" and at that moment she felt it again, causing her to cuss up a storm. Rosita,who was with them,called Prince to tell him what was happening. In less than 10 minutes the men had arrived. James went over to his wife to comfort her,but she was in so much pain,she became agressive and lost her temper.
"Get your fucking hands off me,you son of a bitch!! This is all your fault!!" Prince saw that James was very hurt and he walked up to him and moved him away.
"She didn't mean it man, it's just the pain talking. Don't take it personal. Here ,have a drink and relax. Gary is a gynaecologist . He will take care of her." And he gave James a glass of wine to calm down. Dom was yelling at everyone who tried to talk to her. When she yelled at Angel, Prince almost lost it.
'Gary,take care of her man, no one disrespects my wife like that" While Prince comforted his wife,Gary tried to calm Dom down.
"Dominique,try and breathe. Breathe in ,and out...-"
"Shut up!!"
Gary walked up to her and started to tell her off.
"Listen to me Dominique,you have been very disrespectful to us and I don't care how much pain you're in ,you can't act that way. Now with that being said,I want you to shut you trap and breathe so your kid gets oxygen!NOW!!." She obeyed and quietly started to breathe just like Gary instructed. He called the hospital to prepare a room for her and Prince rescheduled the grand opening. He knew that Angel would want to be by Dom's side .....

Epilogue

Dom gave birth to a healthy baby girl. She apologized for her behavior and after some scolding from Angelica, she realized how ungrateful she had been acting towards James. So she made an effort to do better. Over the years Prince and his little family found love and peace in ways he never had before. In the end he had it all: Love,music and family.
