I trembled through the woods, blood all over my body. My family had just been attacked by wolves or something that looked like wolves. They seemed quicker than usual.

My vision began to blur. I only managed to get a couple more steps in before everything went black as I fainted.

When I woke up I was in a house and on a bed. I looked around the room. It was small, but nice. I had this unsationable hunger though, and my head felt like it was caving in.

I watched the door as it slowly opened, revealing a gorgeous girl. Her long, icy blonde-hair complimenting her light blue eyes, that could trap one's gaze. Her skin was pale with a small dusting of freckles across her cheeks and nose.

I stared at her, "Where am I?"

"You are in my family's house. I am Rebekah. What's your name?", she said giving me a smile. Her smile was warm and oddly brought me comfort.

"My name is Hazel. What am I doing here?", I said, returning her friendly smile.

She took a couple steps closer, "Well I found you in the woods. You were all bloody and passed out."

My smile quickly faded as the memories came rushing back, "My family was attacked....", I gasped, lifting up my shirt. Where there was once a gaping gash, laid only dried blood, not even a scar.

"Uh... there used to be a large gash here... what happened to it and why am I so hungry?", I asked as I clenched onto my throat.

"Well... when I found you... you were almost dead, so I did something... but then you died...", she said as she sat next to me, putting her hand on my shoulder. I flinched at the sudden contact causing her to remove her soft hand quickly.

Now flooded with fear, I snapped, "What are you saying?!?"

She took a deep breath, "Your family was attacked by werewolves and I am a vampire along with the rest of my family and now so are you...."

I stared at her. Was she being serious? Those things only exist in fairytales, or well horror stories. Who was this crazy woman?

"Those type of things... they don't exist."

Rebekah sighed, "let me show you."

Her sclera, or white part of her eye, turned bloodshot red while little black veins, I assume, appeared underneath her eyes. Slowly opening her mouth, I saw them. Her fangs. But that's crazy, isn't it? Vampires don't exist. They can't. That's impossible, so I thought, but yet here I am, staring at this girl and even though she looks like a complete monster, I'm not scared.

I reached my hand up to touch the veins, "That's... but how...?" "

She smiled, once again that calming smile, "that's a story for another time. As of right now, you must drink blood."

Disgust flooded my face, "drink BLOOD?! Are you insane!!"

"It's a long story, please trust me."

"Trust you, I just met you."

"Please."

Against my better judgement, I agreed. I mean all she seemed to be telling was the truth. She stood up from the bed and walked over to a small table. She wrapped her hand around a glass cup filled with a deep red substance, obviously blood.

She reached her hand out for me to grab it. Before taking it, I stared.

"Well, here goes nothing.", I said as I grabbed the rigid glass, drinking the irony substance.

Immediately, I felt a sharp pain in my mouth. Cautiously, I reached to touch the same spot in my mouth where Rebekah's fangs laid dormant in hers. Fangs. Actual vampire like fangs. Soon enough the hunger for blood came crashing back. Everything also felt... better, stronger.

She chuckled at my reaction, "everything's heightened. You feel everything stronger now. Sounds are louder too."

I nodded, almost giving her my full attention.

After a couple of moments, she broke the silence, "Would you like to meet my brothers?"

I nodded as she led me out the room where her two brothers were waiting. I stared at the two men before me. The one had long dirty blonde hair and dark blue-green eyes. The other had long brown hair with hazel eyes.

"Who is this lovely lady, Rebekah?", the blonde-haired man said as he looked at me as if I were his prey.

I gave an uncomfortable smile, "I'm Hazel."

The brother with the brown hair introduced himself as Elijah and the other one as Klaus.

"It's nice to meet you both."
