Riki paced around his room, the sound of his parents fighting in the background rang through his ears. "Just stop, please.." He whispered to himself, hot tears forming in his eyes.
Riki parents had always fought, but their fights were never as bad as this one. He truly hated when they got into fights.
"Fucking hell, this is shit." Riki stepped over to his bed and pulled out his phone. "Music should drown them out." He unlocked his phone and got onto Spotify, clicking his liked songs and turning the volume up.
Riki lied on his bed and started humming the lyrics to the songs that played.
After a while, the fighting stopped, but there was a loud bang, it sounded like a door slaming shut. Riki shot up out of his bed, hurrying down the hall.
"Mom?! Dad?!" He called out, not earning a response. Riki looked around the house, hearing the cries of his father. It was so abnormal to hear his father cry.
Riki walked over to his dad, squating down in front of him. "Father?" Riki asked, poking the man's leg.
His dad lifted his head, wiping his tears. "What, Riki?" He asked, acting as nothing happened.
Riki frowned. "Dad, what's wrong?" He pondered, obviously knowing what had happened.
His father got up and walked off into the living room, some tears falling from his face again.
Riki stood up and frowned more, "Where's mom?" He asked, following being his father.
"Riki, stop asking so many fucking questions!" His father shouted, turning around to look at his son.
Riki stopped walking and looked down at his dad. "S-Sorry," he muttered, picking at his nails.
His dad rolled his eyes and walked onto his now lonely room.
Riki let out a sad sigh and went off to his room as well. When he stepped through his doorway, he grabbed a bag of marshmallows that were on his desk and went to his bed and lied down. Riki ate a few of the marshmallows as hot tears streamed down his cheeks.
It was already 5 o'clock. Riki didn't care about dinner, it wouldn't feel the same knowing his mom just left without saying goodbye. It wouldn't feel the same knowing his father is beyond pissed and already seems depressed. It wouldn't feel the same because Riki was lost.
Riki stared off into space for a while and slowly fell asleep.
He woke up in the morning, his eyes puffy and red. His cheeks were damp. "The heck..?" He quietly asked himself. Riki felt his cheeks and questioned why they were damp and when he fell asleep.
He shook his head and got up. Riki walked into the kitchen, went over to the fridge and opened it. He grabbed the jug of milk and set it on the counter. He opened the cupboard and grabbed a glass cup, setting the cup down and opened the jug, pouring himself a glass. Riki drank the cold milk, setting the glass in the sink and putting the milk back in the fridge.
