Y/N's POV:
The alarm clock rung, the sound deafening my ears, sending a small flinch through my body as I sat up.

"6:30 already? You've got to be kidding me" I groaned as I crawled out of bed slowly putting on a pair of baggy jeans, a oversized tee and my dirty black converse.

I head into the bathroom quickly brushing my ratted hair and tying it back into a messy bun, I proceeded to scurry down the stairs in a messy fashion while grabbing a pack of pop tarts and my car keys.

I try to avoid to look or wake my drunk father who was fast asleep on the couch with beer cans surrounding him, I check the calendar before stepping out the door only to see...

"Grocery day." I say.
————————Time Skip To School————————

Before I'd walk into school I put my headphones tightly in my ears, turning on my playlist.

You could say I was the loner type, the only friend i'm super close with is Heather.

We both work with each at the Shadyside mall in the book store, she's been my only real friend since grade school.

I entered into the school, hands in pockets and eyes staying glued to the floor in front of me with each step I took until I finally reached my locker.

When putting in my combination I got a tapped on the shoulder, I turned around to see Heather.

"Hey short stuff." Heather said nudging my arm.

"Hey H, you work today?" I said.

"Yeah, ever since Mom used our last bit of money on scratch tickets it's been almost a everyday thing." She said rolling her eyes.

"Ahh, I have off today. I got to do a grocery run after
school or else dads gonna get pissed." I said staring at my rugged converse.

"Well have fun, I know that Simon boy from chem works there. Who knows maybe you'll make a new friend" She said chuckling as she walked away.

I doubt that
———————Time Skip To After School——————
I had driven into the Shadyside grocery store and just sat in the parking lot until I finally felt like going in.

When I approached the front glass doors slid open and I proceeded to grab one of the carts off towards the side.

Walking down the aisles I grabbed easy to make meals as well as essentials, I wasn't looking where I was going and suddenly BANG.

Oh shit- I thought to myself

I had knocked over a display of soup cans that were near the back.

"Huh, you seem to be a bit of a klutz don't you?" said a voice giving off a slight chuckle.

I turned around to see the boy that was in my chem class, Simon Kalivoda.

"I am so sorry, I swear it was just an accident." I said looking shamefully at the ground.

"I assure you there's no problem hon, I got it." He said with a big smile.

Hon? How cute.

"Thank you, I really apologize again." I said.

"No sweat. Hey? Aren't you that girl from my chem class? Uhh Y/N right?" He said confused.

"Yup, that's me. Didn't think anyone actually payed attention to me." I said chuckling.

"Well you have definitely peaked my interest Ms. Y/N." He said with a wide smile.

I felt a blush start to appear over my cheeks, I turned away.

"Anyway, don't worry about all this mess I got it. You seem pretty cool though, here let me see your wrist." He said proceeding to pull out a sharpie.

I put my wrist out and he wrote his home phone number on my wrist along with "Simon <3"

"Oh t-thanks." I said with a blush appearing once more across my face.

"Anytime, we should hangout I'd love if you met my friends." he said before turning around and starting to replace the soup can display.

Simon huh? I could get used to hearing that name.
—————Time Skip To After Grocery Store—————
After arriving home I started unloading my car with the groceries and took them inside my house.

My father was sitting on the couch drinking more and more beer cans and tossing them to the side of the couch.

What a pig.

I put the groceries on the countertop and started organizing them into their correct compartments until my father yelled.

"Y/N get me another fucking can of beer from the garage." He said slurring his words.

I walked into the garage and grabbed another case so it'd keep him quiet for awhile and continued putting away the groceries.

When I was finished I walked back upstairs into my room, I sat at my desk finishing up some homework when a thought came into my head.

Simon.

The thought was distinct-

maybe I should call him.

Without another thought I was dialing his home phone number into mine and I waiting as the line rung.

"Hello Kalivoda residence." Simon had said in a somewhat sleepish sounding voice.

"Simon? Hi it's Y/N, sorry if it's a bad time I can go." I said

"Oh hey Y/N! It's nice to talk to you again." It's like I could hear the grin on his face.

We talked for hours upon hours about school, our lives, our futures and it almost seemed like Ive known this boy forever.

What are these feelings i'm feeling?
