November.
Lorelei Williams stormed out of the dorm and slammed the door behind her. She ignored the boy's yells as she left, but the noise of something shattering was harder to disregard.
She could already feel the blood trickling down her lip where it had been split, and she knew that it would leave an awful mark— nothing that couldn't be covered in the morning with a bit of makeup.
She leaned against the wall for a moment, trying to decide whether or not she would be able to return to her bedroom anytime soon. Luca would leave eventually... hopefully.
She learned that you can't fix someone who doesn't see anything wrong with their actions, but if she looked past all of the fights between them... he really loved her.
He learned that if he was able to ease into the girl's mind and convince her that he loved her... then he would have her wrapped around his finger.
To him, she was disposable. To her, he meant the world.
No one was in the hall around her. Weekend common room parties were usually the main event on nights like these, dragging all of the Slytherin students out of their dorms and toward the dance floor. She could already hear the music from down the hall, but the screams and laughter of those enjoying it was even louder.
She should be there... with her friends.
But no. Here she was.
Lorelei hurried toward the party, but she wasn't going to be attending it. Instead of entering the common room, she turned down a different passage, one that led away from the dorms.
If she was seen like this then everyone would know. Everyone would find out that her life wasn't as great as she made it seem.
She threw the door to the bathroom open and made her way toward the sink, immediately turning the tap on as water began to run from the faucet. The girl tried her best to avoid looking at her reflection, but the small splotch of red in the mirror was too hard not to spot from the corner of her eye.
Lorelei slowly looked up, but she felt sick when she saw her slightly swollen lower lip and the blood that was already beginning to dry.
Before she had the chance to clean herself up, the bathroom door behind her was thrown open and in stumbled two familiar Slytherin boys.
She whipped around, slightly caught off guard by the sudden intrusion as Theodore Nott and Draco Malfoy both hurriedly shut the door, locking it behind them. Theodore immediately dropped back against the wall, sliding to the ground as he let out a wince of pain.
"Is there a good reason for you two to be in the girl's bathroom?" Lorelei crossed her arms and leaned back against the sink, brushing a dark curl away from her face.
Both of the boys immediately looked up and their eyes widened upon seeing her.
Draco's expression changed by giving a roll of his eyes, Theo's shifted to one of concern when he noticed that the girl's lip was bleeding.
"My god, Lore, what happened to you?" He gave a grunt as he tried to sit up, but he slouched back against the wall in defeat when he realized that he wasn't going anywhere in his condition.
"Says you... you're the one hunched over as if someone took a good blow at you—"
Theo gave a small smirk and looked up at Lorelei, and that's when her joke became a reality.
