CHAPTER 4
Imogen found it hard to move on after that night at the restaurant. She was so upset how Casey found out. She returned to the mansion and found Casey with her father in the living room.
"Casey... I'm sorry. It should never have happened."
"I knew he liked you. I knew he wanted something to happen between the two of you... I knew. But I told him that you would never ever see it through. That you weren't like that."
"I wasn't going to see it through. I swear. He was just so... I was upset. I just found out that you were helping your father get me to be... To work for him. I... I was hurt and confused."
"All he ever did was ask about you." Casey shook her head. "I'm pathetic right?"
"No... No... I'm so sorry... Look, I'm leaving. I'll pack and leave."
"You don't have to go." Carlton now. "My daughter understands why you did what you did." What?
"No, it's inexcusable. I shouldn't have done that. Trust me I'm ashamed."
"I know you wouldn't do it if you didn't think I had wronged you." Casey wiped her tears. "I know what sort of person you are... I get it. I get it... It's just... I didn't want it to be true. That he had eyes for you."
"I am so ashamed of my actions Casey. You have to believe me... I'm so sorry."
"Let's move on. That's it. At least it's out in the open now. No need to drag it out. Isn't that right Casey?" Carlton asked his daughter. His very upset daughter.
"Yeah. I'll get over it."
"Good, so it's sorted. Imogen will remain living here." Yeah, why didn't she like the sound of that?
"Actually I am going to move. I just need to get on with my life. I know that eventually I will need to find somewhere to live on my own. I will be okay... You've been extremely generous with me."
"I will not hear of it." Carlton shook his head. "You will stay. This is your home."
"It's very kind of you... But..."
"No buts. It's sorted." With that he left.
"Casey..."
"My dad... He is only keeping you to make you an escort. Don't be a fool. He will get his way." What?
"Casey... I..."
"Stop playing the innocent act with me. You fucked my boyfriend. Knowing I love him... You will get yours. My dad... He will hunt you down... If you think to leave. What's more... You have never paid rent. He will take you to court and fuck your life up... He has so much money that he will pay the judge to agree to anything he wants, I suggest you get on board with fucking men for money... You will be doing only that soon enough."
Casey left to her room leaving Imogen to look at her walk away. What the fuck was that? That was a side of Casey she had never seen before. An evil side.
What if she was telling her the truth? No... Oh god. Please... She was beginning to freak out.
She had nobody to call. Nobody to turn to. Tomorrow. Tomorrow she would go to legal aid and see what her options were.
She prayed that Casey was lying to her. She really did. She was freaking out. If Carlton fucked her up, she was as good as being deported home. She wasn't ready to go home.
And money... What if she needed to pay for the time she spent at the mansion? Oh god... Where on earth was she going to get that kind of money from?
