My Apologies

Summary: Eren forgot their 3 year anniversary as a couple and Mikasa gets upset. This is a cabin AU.
(THIS IS FLUFF ONLY, I AM SORRY THAT NO LEMONS ARE COMING OUT CAUSE I HAVE NO IDEAS)

z was early morning when Mikasa woke up, took a bath and rushed to the kitchen to cook Eren's favorite meal for their anniversary.

"Hmm where is the cheese?"

She looks through the kitchen cabinets and finds what she needed.

"Perfect."

Eren pov:

I woke up to the sun shining in my eyes and...a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen? I changed to my proper clothing to investigate the source of this.

When I was walking down the corridor, I stopped at the doorframe of the kitchen, I saw my beautiful girlfriend whom I saved many many years ago when we were young...my Mikasa is now a grown woman who's cooking food, for me apparently.

"Good morning dear."
She greeted once she saw me walk towards the table.

"Morning.."
I said lazily.

"Still not fully awake? Come and eat, Eren!"

I kissed her on the cheek then sat down to eat, the moment Mikasa's home cooking touched my tongue it felt like heaven. I smiled while eating, a while after Mikasa asked me..

"Do you like the food Eren? Its cheeburg steak." Mikasa asked with a smile on her face. (slight AoT junior high reference lol)

"Of course! This is the best breakfast!" I told her.

"Oh thankyou! But do you realize why I made it for specifically this day...?"

"I don't know..maybe because you wanted to try something new or..?"

Mikasa's brows furred in confusion

"Huh? E-Eren you don't know what day it is??" She asked

"Well, what is it? I really don't know."

What was she talking about? What day is it? Isn't it just a normal day? We both know everyone's birthdays and specific events..but not this day?

"Eren...it's our 3 year anniversary..h-how could you forget??" Mikasa spoke up looking at me with teary eyes.

oh shit

"H-Honey I didn't know! I am so sorry!" That was the time I realized I fucked up.

I stood up and ran towards our calendar hanging from the wall, and looked at the date, she was right. It was our anniversary. How the hell could I forget?!

"Mikasa! I'm sorry...I know this should be a special day for us both..and I ruined it..."

"Eren..it's okay..." My lady said with tears on her face wiping it, she was still frowning and she already forgave me but my simple apology wasn't it, she needed more than just that. I sat down beside her rubbing her back as she leaned on to my shoulder, trying to stop her sobs.

"Hey...why don't you go back to our room huh? I'm gonna get something..." I suggested.

"Mmm, sure.."

I kissed Mikasa on the lips before going out the door.

Narrator Pov:

Once Eren walked out the door, the first thing he thought about Mikasa's gift were flowers, just like flowers, she smells lovely and look gorgeous all the time, so he decided to pick some bellflowers, a few roses, dandelions and more. He fixed it like a bouquet to make it look more presentable. Once he was finished, he sat on the patio of their cabin, Eren knows he wants to keep their relationship forever but because of the curse of Ymir still in his body, that wont be possible. So he put all his heart for his message to Mikasa and the flowers he will give.

Now, Eren got in their cabin and walked to their bedroom. When he opened the door slightly, he saw his lover laying on the bed but she isn't sleeping though.

"Mikasa? May I come in?"

"Yes."

He was now infront of her, he sat on the bed and told her,

"Sit up Mika."

And so she did. Mikasa was looking at him with innocent looking eyes glaring straight at his green ones.
Eren breathed in and out before saying

"Love I'm sorry..again for my mistakes this day so I thought I would wanna make it up to you."

He pulls out the freshly picked flowers and gave it to her.

"For you, Mikasa. Beautiful flowers for a beautiful woman."

...

"What should I start with.."
Eren quitely muttered to himself.

" *sigh* We already know that I only have 1 year left to live, and...I really want to spend it with you, Mikasa Ackerman. With all these mornings with us loving eachother and with all these nights mating with one another...we have been growing closer and closer. We have always did. And now that my life going away slowly from the physical world...I'll let you know that I'm always by your side, forever."

Eren finishes his true confession infront of his beloved, and ends up with Mikasa crying, soaking his shirt while hugging him tightly as his smile turns to a small frown.

"Eren...I..love you...s-so much..."
Mikasa said through sobs.

"I love you too Mikasa, happy anniversary, love." Eren says hugging her back with his fingers sliding through her short black hair.

10 minutes pass and Mikasa has just finished wiping all of her tears and with Eren calming her down.

"I'm so sorry for that.."

"It's alright Mikasa...though it is the truth and, we must face it."

silence.

After prepping for bed, they cuddled eachother in their arms sleeping, Eren also cried that night when Mikasa already fell asleep but he didn't make it much of a big deal.
