2nd person POV
luckily what happened between you and semi wasn't noticed by the crowd, except for two boys who watched from afar in their dismay.
you walked outside the house, planning on leaving until you felt a hand on yours. you looked back slightly expecting the ash blond boy. you remembered the last time you saw him, when you hoped for him to ran after you, but it was shirabu who comforted you.
and yet again, it was still him.
deja vu
"y/n..." you looked back to see your hand grabbed by his. his face looked at you in a concerned way.
"i'm sorry for running away. i just couldn't bring myself to see him again." your voice slightly broke.
shirabu brought you into a hug, you remembered the last time this happened and it all happened again for the same reason. all because of that boy you once loved,
semi eita.
the feeling of sadness and pain rush back inside of you remembering your sweet moments with him. you couldn't help but imagine that it was semi who was holding you, not shirabu.
'why can't semi be like you kenjiro?'
≪ meanwhile ≫
"oooh~ semisemi~ how is your heart right now?" tendou asked in a giggly voice while walking towards the boy.
"i need to go." he said, trying to catch up to you. he walked out as his eyes widened again.
he saw you in his kouhai's arms once again like years ago. he did run after you during that time, but he saw you in comfort with someone else. which is what he is seeing again right now. history repeating itself again and again.
you thought he never ran after you that time. you thought he never cared.
but he did.
his fists clenched as he felt each pain at every heartbeat that was rapidly beating from his heart. the feeling of pain, remorse, jealousy, love was all present in his heart. he felt mixed emotions, seeing you with someone else. he knew you deserved better than him, but he couldn't face the fact that you were better off without him.
he didn't want to regret not having you back in his life forever. he wanted to let you know that he changed. he was not the prideful self-centered guy he was three years ago.
he changed.
but was it too late? or are you willing to give him a second chance?
but semi decided to leave you both, like he did years ago. but this time, he's gonna do what is right. he is gonna make it up to you.
he left, making sure both of you wouldn't see him. you didn't see him leave but shirabu did. he sighed now that he could comfort you in private.
"let's go, i'll take you somewhere." his soothing words made your heart feel better. you looked up as you saw the sincerity in his eyes making you feel a bit flustered and feel butterflies in your stomach. although, some memories were triggered.
when you both arrived at the park, you both sat on the bench. he lowered your head onto his shoulder, ruffling your hair gently. memories flashed in your head, memories with a boy you tried to forget.
you remembered the very first moment you started liking semi, it was when your eyes met his when he was helping you stand up after tripping over a rock on a marathon that your school hosted.
he was a shy boy but when he saw you hurt he couldn't help but approach you and give you a hand. after that, he became your best friend.
he was the only one who treated you nicely. that's what you thought, but you were wrong.
'why didn't i notice that the person in front of me was always there even before semi? was it because i glued my eyes on him that's why i overlooked you, kenjiro?'
this boy with you right now, he was always there for you. he was your childhood friend, whom you met even earlier on. but you only kept your eyes onto semi, neglecting him in the process.
he should've just left you. he should've hated you for leaving him behind. he should've let you cry and leave you all alone.
but he didn't.
he isn't like semi.
He is Kenjiro, the boy who sticked with you after all this years despite pushing him away for a boy who didn't even care for you. he was always there for you, and finally you have realized it.
"i'm sorry for being a burden on you kenken. i'm older than you but i feel like you're way more mature than me." you said as you held his arm. the boy was a bit blushy by your grip but he felt happy that you finally gave him the attention he has been longing for you to give since you both were kids.
"i'll always be here for you, y/n. you don't have to feel bad. i'm happy whenever i'm with you." he said as he felt you raise your head. He turned his head towards you, both of your faces were just inches apart. you just looked into his brown eyes, finding comfort in them as he sat there still.
'i want to show you how much you mean to me right now but, i don't want to take advantage of your heartbrokenness.' he thought, hiding his deep attraction from you.
he decided to look away and lower your head once again on his shoulder. "thank you kenken. you're the best person i ever met."
thw boy blushed at your comment, but one thought came into his mind.
'even better than semi-san?'
