Love and Death

Chapter Eight

Meliodas's eyes widened in horror after hearing what Ryoko's words.

"I can't accept that! No I won't accept that! I just got you back Ryoko!" He shouted hysterically grabbing her arms.

Ryoko frowns putting her head down "I can't stay here forever Meliodas, you have to accept that I'm dead no matter how much it's hurt" he muttered.

Meliodas frowns deeply "I won't lose you again Ryoko, when I was cursed to watch that goddess die 106 times I felt nothing but although I was in denial I had a vision of your death as if I watched you died 106 times instead of Elizabeth" he muttered, Ryoko blinks her eyes.

"It started back after the Ten Commandments were released and going to retrieve my full power in Istar I had to go through a full trial to control my full power without losing control of my emotions but what scared me was seeing you die over and over again despite it being a trail it felt so real, I believe it was a forshadow towards the truth" he explained to Ryoko.

(Flashback)

Meliodas felt cold wet droplets falling down his face, going through his trail in order to gain control of his emotions.

He was sent back into the depths of his darkest memory, the memories that bore his sin, his failure and the trigger of his trauma.

He looks around his surroundings he soon realized he was not in Danafor despite wearing its armor this was Britannia from three thousand years ago he was surrounded by corpses and blood staining the pavement his green eyes followed the trail of blood leading towards an oak tree and a body slumped against it.

He expected it to be Liz, Elizabeth's 106 reincarnation, it was a woman with brown skin and wavy black hair, wearing a battle worn black dress with no foot wear leaving her feet bare. Blood was leaking from the corner of her mouth, there was also dark circles underneath her eyelid but what brought Meliodas's attention was the black pendant around her neck.

Meliodas let's his body move on it's own walking towards the woman he didn't know why but he felt grief and sorrow yet he doesn't know this woman he clutched onto his chest in pain.

He lifted his hand to touch her face it was so cold but it felt so warm and he held her body closely towards him, the feeling felt so familiar to him that he want to let her go.

"Don't you touch her!" Meliodas felt him being forced away from the woman by Zeldris, forcing him to let go of her.

"Zeldris?" Meliodas muttered wondering why was he was here in his trail.

Zeldris blocks his view of the woman "You stay the hell away from her, you had your chance and you blew it" he blurted angrily.

"What do you mean?" Meliodas remarks with confusion, Zeldris scowls even further.

"Don't be so naive Meliodas, wake up!" He growled angrily shocking Meliodas.

The woman turned into Liz changing again before his eyes but he closed his eyes tightly, before opening them again. The woman was still there but her eyes were opened revealing beautiful amethyst eyes and she had a dying smile on her face and it brought tears to face he's seen Elizabeth die 106 times but he hasn't felt emotional or distress over it. This is the first time he's seen the woman but he feels shattered seeing her dying in front of him and he couldn't do anything about it.

The woman chuckles "Don't cry please Meliodas" she muttered shocking him.

"How do you know my name?" He asked in shock.

"You will have find out for yourself, remember my name darling it's Ryoko" the woman muttered before she dies and turning back into Liz and the entire landscape returned back to Danafor.

"No! Send me back! Let me see her!" Meliodas demanded angrily releasing his full power given into his wrath destroying Danafor altogether.

(Flashback ends)

Ryoko's eyes were filled with tears.

"I didn't know why was this happening but my conscience was telling me Elizabeth was not the woman I love" he muttered softly, Ryoko didn't know what to think Meliodas was mentally tortured for three thousand years while forced to endure a curse with Elizabeth.

Ryoko was still with Meliodas but she feels sympathetic towards his situation he was not completely at fault so she was willing to forgive him but it will take some time.

"Meliodas I need time to think right now, I love you but at the same I hate you" Ryoko answered honestly. Meliodas frowns his bangs covering his face.

"Still I'm going to be the Demon King and bring you back" he declared catching Ryoko off guard.

He lifted his head looking his former lover in the eye, his pitch black eyes piercing into her purple eyes.

"As I stated before consequences be damned, I'm not letting you go not this time Ryoko! Never again! So hate me all you want, curse me forever I don't care! I will bring you back! You belong to me Ryoko!" He stated possessively and for once Ryoko was baffled, and he pulls her into a kiss before he took off flying back to Camelot.

Ryoko was so filled with so many emotions she couldn't think straight. Love, anger, shock, but mostly fear. She was really scare for Meliodas he was willing to sacrifice himself for her sake, she can't let that happen.

"No Meliodas" she muttered anxiously, and she went to go back inside to discuss a plan with the Sins to save Meliodas from himself.

Meanwhile,

Meliodas return from his visit with Ryoko and he goes into the Castle, Zeldris was not on the throne but his expression was blank to near stoicism.

Zeldris immediately noticed a change in his brother, Meliodas looks at his brother. Zeldris could see the look in his brother's eyes has changed it's not as intense as before with a look of warmth and love?

Zeldris's eyes widened in disbelief, only person was capable of giving his heartless brother to feel emotions.

Meliodas forms a smile on his face.

"She's back, Ryoko is back" he muttered tears falling down his face.

Zeldris's eyes also were filled with tears falling down his face as well.

(Flashback)

Ryoko was laying on Zeldris's chest being held in his arms feels so warm and safe, it was raining but neither of them cared.

"Even though it's cold I feel warm, Zel after I'm gone I want you to have my necklace it's my second most important thing to me, now it belongs to you.

Zeldris's eyes widened "Second? Than what's the most important to you?" He asks her, the pendant meant everything to her.

Ryoko chuckles "You of course, you could never be replaced. You're special to me, everything to me and I will do anything to ensure your safe" Ryoko remarks with a smile, Zeldris's face turned red and Ryoko chuckles setting up, bringing him into her arms nearly close to her chest, her hand stroking his hair, soft to the touch.

"You always protected me Zel, now I want to return the favor. I love you Zel" Ryoko muttered softly.

(Flashback ends)

Zeldris clutched onto his pendant.

"After all this I thought she would be gone forever" he muttered with a smile, at the thought of seeing his lover for the first time in three thousand years.
