If Soohyun is the sky and Jun is the sun, surely that explains why they simply must be together.

Touch was a complexity in the eyes of Jun. It was something he craved, needed, but at the same time feared and avoided. How was he to know if it would land upon his skin with care or anger, make daisies blossom between his teeth or roses sprout along his flesh? With his classmates, touch provoked discomfort, the prickle of thistles in his lungs he learned to suppress with a luminous smile; Sobin's a gentle ocean wave that swept him into a land of foreign happiness; Soohyun's . . . well, Soohyun's was the root of the issue.

Soohyun's was layered and of a novelty Jun was quite certain he'd never experienced before, and yet repeatedly found himself subject too, particularly after his breakdown that one night and subsequent awkward morning, both of them walking on eggshells around each other despite their best to act at ease.

"Ah, I - Guess I felt a bit cold during the night," He'd groggily fumbled with his words when he'd peeled his eyes open for them to be greeted by Soohyun's exposed collarbones, the white neckline of his shirt wrinkled and tugged below them through sleep and Jun's own clinging hands.

"You hugged me when you were awake."

The male himself had his arms wrapped securely around Jun's waist and was peering down at the blond with a miniscule smile not even he seemed aware of; Jun pointed out neither of the two factors, instead grinning before rolling out of Soohyun's hold and off the bed. His head spun for a moment when he stood, but he shook it off, blinking himself awake and only scarcely processing the fact that Soohyun had been awake before him and yet, despite the time being past his alarm, remained by Jun's side.

A realisation for another day, perhaps, because then they danced around one other at breakfast, shared lopsided smiles during classes, and Jun's mind became very much occupied with something else.

"Living together is doing you both well."

It was a casual comment tossed his way, almost like an attempt to hook him on a fishing line and reel him in before his train of thought fully transported him to his own dimension, and he was somewhat grateful.

"Huh - yeah, I suppose," He gave a sharp tug at the straps of his backpack over his shoulders, recentering himself before allowing his gaze to flicker to the shorter Sobin at his side, "Why would you say that?"

The girl pursed her lips for a handful of seconds, mulling over her reply as the two walked off campus, "Well, things just feel different."

And maybe that was a sign from the universe or god or whatever was watching over his story unfold to kick his brain and heart into action and start unravelling the ever-growing knot behind his ribs.

Jun wasn't entirely sure how Sobin knew, but she was right about something having shifted between him and Soohyun, and not purely on a state of emotional closeness, but in the way they existed together and reacted to one another. It was strange, baffling, but he somehow felt a bubbling excitement just behind the thin veil of confusion.
