I'm Katniss Everdeen. The daughter of William and Mary Everdeen, sister to the 4 year old energy ball named Primrose everdeen.

As of now I'm 17 and I have the best friends in the whole world. We're the most popular kids in our school which is JabberJay High.

My best friends are: Annie Cresta, Finnick Odair,Cato Smith, Clove Milan, Madge Undersee, Gale Hawthorne, Marvel Goldan, Glimmer Francesca and Peeta Mellark. We've all known each other for quite sometime now and have grown up together. I really like Peeta but, I don't know if he likes me back. It's pretty complicated if you ask me.

I'm getting ready to go to school and it's literally 6:30 in the morning. I hate this so much. I brushed my teeth and threw my hair up really quick. I threw on my skinny jeans and my converse with an orange crop top because, it's summer now and school is almost over. Sadly we are the sophomores at our school so it's not entirely over for us like the seniors.

I walked downstairs and grabbed an apple eating it on the way out to my car. I said goodbye to my mom and headed out. When I got into my car I forgot all about my hair this morning so I just brushed it out. Thank GOD for emergency brushes because, I would've been late fixing my hair in my room again. I threw on my lakers SnapBack and drove off.

Even though we're the sophomores, we have our own parking spaces that no one parks in. Peeta's brother is a junior and his oldest brother is a senior so they reserved spots for us. I pulled into my parking spot and saw Finnick and Annie pull into his.

Yes everyone in our group is a couple except for me and Peeta. And yes they all know that we like each other. Clove and Cato are dating, Annie and Finnick are dating, Gale and Madge are dating, Marvel and Glimmer are together, and then there's me and Peeta. We hopped out of our cars just in time to see a football hurling towards Finnick. Annie dashes up to me and Finnick catches it. I saw where it came from, none other than Gale.

"Gale flipping Hawthorne. I told you to not throw footballs at me. For one because, I have my car and if you EVER hit my car with a football your broke behind will be spending the day fixing it. And because I don't want you to hit Annie. I would kill you just so you know." Finnick said walking towards the entrance.

"Kitty Everdeen. Nice to know that you decided to join us at school today aye." Said Annie.

"Well Ann, I decided what better way to spend my last 2 months in school than with my friends ya know." I said giving her a sarcastic smile.

She giggled and then hugged me. Oh yeah I forgot to mention, my family used to live in New Brunswick but, we moved back here in December. I got to see all of my friends again but, I was a little bit more happy to see all the snow. I don't know why but, there was barely any snow in New Brunswick.

We walked in and I saw Peeta waiting running around with Cato carrying some kids backpack. Oh GOD not this again. Beetee Davidson is the school nerd and he's absolutely obsessed with his electronic backpack. I guess Cato found it and gave it to Peeta, who kept throwing it around back to him.

I snuck up behind him as Beetee was in the middle of Cato and Peeta trying to catch his backpack. I went to Peeta's sides while Clove went around to Cato and kissed him. He was obviously distracted so when I tickled Peeta the backpack fell onto the ground while Peeta laughed. He turned around and his hands snuck around my waist and he leaned into my ear whispering,"You know I don't like being tickled. Kitty."

I shivered and then giggled. The way he said my name was extraordinary. It was soft and sweet. I can't even describe it. I walked with my group down the stairs to our lockers. All of our lockers are coincidentally right by each other's. Me and Peeta's are in the front end of the hall next to each other's, clove and Cato's are across from ours a little down the hall, Annie and Finnick's are right on the left side of theirs, then Gale and Madge's are right down the hall from ours and lastly Glimmer and Marvel's are almost right next to ours but just 2 down. Too bad me and Peeta have to watch as they always kiss each other goodbye but, then realize that they have a class together because, they "forgot what period it was."

The bell rang and I closed my locker. "First period." Said Peeta.

We all looked at each other and replied,"Mr. Abernathy."

Haymitch Abernathy is our Math teacher who knows absolutely nothing about math and is always suffering from a severe hangover during school. His girlfriend left him about 4 years ago and he's been drinking ever since. It's kind of sad but, that just means that we can listen to music and go on our phones before we have Ms. Trinket. And we never take that for granted.

We all walked in and for once he was actually awake. Normally we have assigned seats that end up being next to each other anyways but, in his class we just sit wherever. Oh God no. Here comes Delilah I meant "Delly" Cartwright. She always makes moves on Peeta and he hates her so much.

She strolled over playing with her super short skirt. She could almost barely walk because of her heels everyday and she always wore the trashiest clothes when she was at school. I'd like to see what she wears when she's at home. When she got over to our table we all smirked and all the girls looked at each other while the guys drew their attention towards their girlfriends. Well except Peeta I guess you could say.

She sat on Peeta's desk,"Hey Peeta." She said whispering.

Peeta rolled his eyes, "Delilah Cartwright get your ugly self out of my face."

Her whole mood changed and she hopped off,"Don't call me that. It's Delly or don't call me at all." She said winking when she was done.

Peeta smirked,"Yeah I wouldn't anyways Delilah. So why don't you go back to your group of smut bucket friends and leave my group alone."

She, obviously angered, walked back over to her desk almost tripping on the way. We all laughed as she sat down at her desk. I put in my headphones and decided that I would check my Twitter. I pressed shuffle and the first song that came on was The Love Club by Lorde. Yes.

I went on and found a new tweet. "What the heck is up with this dress. It's blue and black and if you can't see that then you're color blind.@T_YANAMAIZEE" I clicked on a picture and the dress that I saw was blue and gold. I kept scrolling.

I eventually got bored so I took a picture with my entire group. "#mondaysSuck!

Peeta had in his music too but, everyone else was on their insta or talking to each other in our group. I could hear his music so clearly I would tell you some words but the only ones that are safe were "I'm on my Worst Behavior."

We literally never have homework now and even if we do, we all do it together at Clove's house. Her house is always available because her parents are traveling movie producers and their really rich. They've worked with Eddie Redmayne, Shaleine Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and even Michael Jackson when he did his documentary movie on his life. Their actually really awesome. We never have homework in Haymitch's class unless it's just to read our book which this month is The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Although it does make sense that he would assign us a book instead of math homework because, he's too lazy to find a workbook page. I actually really like this book. Now class is over. bleh we have to go to Ms. Trinkets class which is Drama.

We walked down the hallway and saw the two leeg's. Lena and Leanne. We call them the leeg's because, we forge their names sometimes. Lena is leeg 1 and Leona is leeg 2. We're kind of friends but, we don't talk that much. They're in our drama class though so when we do large group projects we pick them to be in our group. It's better then Delly so, I'd go with the other option any day.

They passed us waving hello. I waved back and we kept walking. I find a lot that when people aren't exactly friends they don't really talk to each other around other people. It's like they can't even say hello. I just think it's rude so I don't do that. But sometimes since my group is popular you'll find these few people that think that talking to you is like a life changing experience. It's really not to be honest but hey what do I know.

I saw that Peeta was ahead of me and I started walking again. I didn't even realize that I stopped. When I kept waking I noticed that Peeta had stopped and looked really pale. He ran over to a trash can and threw up in it. I rushed over,"Peeta are you ok?" I asked. Jeez what's wrong with me. Of course he's not ok he just threw up. Ugh.

He put his hand up and I backed up for a second. He finally straightened up and wiped his mouth on a paper towel I gave him. He nodded. "Ever since my mom.... Actually never mind. I'm fine thanks though."

I turned and walked next to him. I took his hand. "Peeta you know you can tell me anything right?" I said.

He nodded and we kept walking to drama class. As soon as we stepped inside the theater room, her high pitched voice came over everyone else's,"Ms. Everdeen and Mr. Mellark you are both late. Your excuses please and don't say I don't have one because they'll come out if I send an email to your parents."

I looked at Peeta and passed him a piece of gum behind his back. He put his hand over his mouth and inserted the gum. It was pretty smooth to be honest. "Well Peeta got lost today because, his brother needed his help moving some things from the locker room and I helped him get back here." I said looking at Peeta who was nodding his head.

She sighed and we went off to find our group. As soon as we got there they all looked at us,"Ok now what really happened." Said marvel.

We looked at each other and Peeta said,"Exactly what she just said to ms. Trinket. Why?"

They looked at each other and shrugged. We sat down and class finally started.

2 hours later
It's finally time for lunch. I'm so hungry it's not even a joke. And today is the best day because they serve grilled chicken Ceaser salad and that's my favorite. We rushed into the cafeteria and everyone sat in a booth except the ladies because we get our stuff first so we can save our seat even though it's already reserved for us courtesy of Peeta's brothers again.

Me and clove grabbed salad and IZZE and the rest of the girls grabbed sandwiches and ICE. We went back to our spot only to find that the guys already got up to get their food.

When we sat down I saw Peeta over by the jocks table full of seniors including his brother. These two guys rose from their seats and crowded around Peeta. I saw a fist heading straight towards Peeta and him doubled over bleeding from his nose and clutching his stomach.

I rushed over but, I was too slow. Thankfully his brother made it before I did. He punched the guy who punched Peeta first and then flung his fist around to the next guy and kicked his knee in. The first guy turned around to punch Peeta's brother but I yelled,"JAKE WATCH BEHIND YOU!"

He turned around and grabbed the guys arm twisting it around in elbowing it in. I don't think I've ever see that much damage and blood in my life since..... ever. I rushed over to where everyone was but Jake told me to go back because, he didn't want me to seem like I was involved in any of this. He told me to go check on Peeta instead. So I looked around the lunch room including the place where he was just sitting against the wall clutching his stomach. There was a few drops of blood in the wall but nothing serious.

I rushed outside to find Peeta standing by his car lighting up a cigarette. He had a tissue on his nose and a water bottle in his hand. He threw the tissue in the trash can and took a long drag from his cigarette, sipping his water after. I walked over to him,"Peeta what are you doing. You smoke?" I asked looking in his eyes.

He smirked and took another drag exhaling the smoke sending it into the air. "Yes Katniss. I do smoke ok, nobody knows except you now. Not even my brothers now and you know that I tell them everything. Just please leave me alone. I don't need anyone feeling sorry for me after that especially not you." He said Inhaling the smoke.

I looked at him,"unbelievable. You can't be serious Peeta. This is nothing like you. You barely even take time to leave when we're with our friends to smoke that doesn't make any sense." I said eyeing him up and down.

He was wearing black basketball shorts and a Nike sweathsirt with red converse and a Miami Heat SnapBack. He took another drag and extinguished the cigarette. "Well Katniss, I can hide things very well as if you didn't already know. But wait you didn't know because, NO ONE FLIPPING CARES ABOUT ME SINCE EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS ALRIGHT. YEAH KATNISS EVERYTHING IS FINE BECAUSE, SMOKING, TAKING BEATINGS FROM YOUR OWN MOTHER AND GETTING BEATUP AT SCHOOL WHILE YOUR BEST FRIEND IS THERE IS THE SIGN THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE. " he shouted.

I watched in disbelief as he looked down at his shoes wiping away a tear from under his eye. "Peeta. You never told me that. You should've told me, I could help you. Peeta I care about you so much and you have no idea what I would do to protect you. What happened in there was not fine. When did you even start smoking Peeta?" I said.

He shrugged his shoulders and looked up,"Why do you even care. Nobody cares about me."
*********
I glared at him,"Are you even listening to yourself. Peeta doing all of this and hiding it is changing you right in front of my eyes and I refuse to let you do this. Answer me right now. When did you start smoking." I picked up his chin so he had to look at me. His ocean blue eyes filled with tears and emotional damage were literally turning dark blue as we were talking.

He gripped my hand ,"Don't. Touch. Me." He flung it down and replied,"Last month when I was hospitalized after one of my weeklies from my mom alright. There you got it out of me now shut up for 5 minutes I can't just be by myself and let my thoughts loose well wait I can't because your always keeping track of me Katniss. Seriously stop with this crap that you're giving me because deep down I doubt that you even care about me one bit."

He went to walk away but I gripped his shoulders and kissed him. He resisted at first but eventually kissed me back pulling my waist towards him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he pressed his chest against mine. We pulled apart putting our foreheads against each other. "Feel better." I whispered

He nodded his head. We walked back in and I stopped before we kept walking. I took 2 fingers and pressed them against his nose and then his stomach that by the way was covered by a six pack that was absolutely amazing. He winced and then coughed. I looked up concerned,"babe,it's alright I'll just have to go home." He replied

I blushed,"babe hmm. I think I like that name, as a matter of fact I really like that name." I said whispering.

He wrapped his arm around my waist and we walked back inside. We first went to the nurse and she checked Peeta's nose and his chest for bruises and bleeding. She asked me to take him home so I said no problem. We got notes written but mine had a return time on it. I just said that I should,be back by at least 2:50 because it was 12:30 and Peeta's house is literally 10 minutes from here.

I walked him out and he pulled me into a corridor. He pressed his lips against mine and I leaned in closer to him my arms resting on his shoulders. We let go and he was breathing heavily,"Jeez. It's like ever since that first kiss I really need more. Their like a drug Katniss."

I smirked and turned back around leading him out of the door. We hopped into my car since I doubted that he would want to drive after what just happened to him. He hopped into the passengers side and buckled his seatbelt. I turned on my radio and the first song from my special playlist was indeed Only by Nicki, Drake, and Lil Wayne. He looked at me as the music started.

"You. Kitty Katniss Everdeen listen to rap music. I can't believe my ears right now." He said looking into my eyes.

I swear to you he might need my kisses but I probably couldn't go a day without looking into his eyes. Their like spells that get cast on you and you drift off into some world where you don't even know what's happening.

I nodded,"See I have a secret too."

His expression changed and he looked outside of his window. I realized what I just said and immediately regretted ever saying it. I touched his shoulder and turned it. He shrugged it off and kept looking out the window. I took off my seatbelt and climbed out of the car. I walked briskly over to the passengers side and unlocked his door sitting on his lap once I got in. I took my hand and turned his chin so he could look at me directly. "Baby. Please don't be mad at me. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." I said whispering in his ear.

He swallowed and shook his head. I nodded mine,"I knew you weren't mad right?" I said.

He quickly shook his head and I kissed his cheek climbing out and closing the door. I hopped back in on my side throwing my SnapBack on again and driving off.

We got to his house and rushed upstairs and he closed his door.
