∆∆Trying new foods∆∆

This is kinda just a chapter to read while I figure an idea for the first proper chapter ;p

Cody was walking down the path, holding his mom's hand. He was humming, tail swaying as he walked. They were on their way back home as they had just gone shopping for groceries. Due to him only being a young kid, his mom had to take him shopping. His father worked during the day so she didn't have a choice not to take him.

"Mom, can we watch Lazytown when we get home?" He asked, looking up at his mom. He carried a little bunny plushie with him, holding it by one if it's paws.

She averted her gaze towards him " once you've had lunch then of course hun." She hummed, letting go of his hand and picking him up. She then carried him on her hip, like most parents do with their kids. Despite carrying him, she was still able to carry the bags with her shopping in, she just used her other hand to carry the two bags. They weren't heavy.

Cody unlocked the door for his mom as she was still carrying him. This was what normally happened when they arrived home after shopping. After his mom put him down, he closed the front door, only after taking the key out.

He took his shoes off, undoing the velcro to get them off, then placing them on the shoe rack. He then skipped into the kitchen, tail bouncing as he moved. Tugging on his mom's shirt he asked her what she was doing for lunch.

"Oh, I'm making you an egg and bacon sandwich." She replied, looking down at him and then giving him a closed eye smile.

"I don't want that." He huffed, pulling on her sleeve harder. He was a picky eater and often made a fuss about the food his mom made.

She gave a sigh and ignored the tugging from her son. She just continued to cook the meal. She knew he'd make a fuss but he was 6 and needed to try new foods. The only thing he really ate was ham sandwiches which had to be on seeded bread and apple juice. Once she had finished making it, she walked over to the small dining table and placed the plate with his sandwich down on the table.

Cody had left the kitchen, going to the living room, he was now sitting on the couch. He yawned, stretching his arms. He was about ready for a nap. Nap time was one of his favourite things. He was falling asleep till his mom walked in and picked him up.

"Your lunch is done, after you eat you can take a nap" she told him, patting his head before placing him on the chair in front of lunch. He looked at his mom, pushing the plate away.

" I don't want it"

"C'mon hun, you have to eat"

He shook his head, getting down from the chair.

"It's either this or no apple juice for the rest of today"

He perked up, looking at her with an upset expression. " mom! That's not fair!" He began pulling on the hem of her shirt.

"Well eat your sandwich then" she chuckled, picking him up and putting him back on the chair.

He looked at her with a frown before picking up a quarter of the sandwich, taking a small bite. His ears had perked up from being flat against his head. He decided he quite enjoyed it. He could hear his mom chuckling as he happily finished his meal.

"It was actually really good!" He almost shouted, jumping down from the chair. He then grabbed his mom's hand and dragged her to the living room. He climbed onto the couch and patted the seat beside him. "Come on! We gotta watch Lazytown!"

She smiled and plopped down on the couch next to him. Pulling him into her side and ruffling his hair. She then grabbed the remote and put on Lazytown for him. She had all episodes recorded so he could watch them whenever.

Within minutes he had already fallen asleep, he'd buried in his mom's side.
