Chapter 5: First Date

Unable to react properly from what just happened inside the elevator, Mezo grabbed her hand as if she was a little girl that couldn't walk alone. He took him to his car and drove off the parking lot in just a minute or so.

"Where do you think you're taking me?" As she finally had her voice and senses back.

"Home." equipped with a smirk.

"Did I even allowed you to do so?"

"Woow..! That's about an hour late baby." Teasing her more.

"Well, you can stop right now and drop me off right here." she's starting to fuse.

"Sorry. As far as I know, I am your boss. You cannot command me like that."

"Not anymore."

"W...what??" He suddenly stopped.

"I said you are not my boss anymore."

"I didn't see that coming. That's not what I sensed earlier."

"You've got a wrong signal Mr. Solomon. Goodby...."

She was about to open the car door beside her when he grabbed her left hand while pressing the lock beside him.

"You're not going anywhere. I'll drop you off to your home. Please...let's not argue here. Look. I'm sorry offending you, but I have no bad intentions."

"Yeah. That wasn't so obvious with what happened inside the elevator!" She rolled her eyes with sarcasm.

"That...uhm..that....I...I apologize for that...but I don't and will never regret that one."

"Wow. Wow. Wow! Seriously? That's how you apologize for your misbehaviour?? Unbelievable!"

"I'm sorry for making you feel that way. But I am just being honest. How could I ever regret the sweetest lips I've ever kissed?.."

"...." she didn't know how to respond to him anymore. That made her blush and shut herself off.

"Uhm...I have seen in your CV that you started working at early age. Why is that necessary?" Him breaking the silence.

"I am a bread-winner." Her short but precise answer.

He then glanced at her as if trying to read her more. Her expressions were blank at the moment. She doesn't seem ready to share more details, and that makes him feel more curiousity. He don't understand what's with him, but one thing is for sure, he's willing to wait and grab any chance to know her deeper.

The road was a little busy which made him take a look around and see a que of people in a fastfood take-away booth. He pulled-over in an empty space in parking lot.

"Stay here."as he goes off the car.

She nodded as if she's not bothered of what's goin on. She's accupied with thoughts about her family back home. Then a sigh came out of her chest and looked down to her hands on her lap when she saw his phone blinking beside her.
Someone is calling. As it keeps blinking, she was able to read the name on the register before the call ended.

"Sweety"

And that gave her an irritating feelings....jealous?? But before she was able to entertain that weird thoughts, the driver had already came back with a wide and very sweet smile.

"Take this." giving her a very familiar box.

She looked at him with full of excitement. Just like a little kid who has given a hand-full of lollipops.

"Happy Birthday." to add much more expression in her face.

"What...?"then she tap her forehead and slightly opened her mouth in surprise.

"Why? You don't seem to remember that it's your birthdsy today. Now take this and let's eat here. Not a very nice idea of a first date to celebrate your birthday, but I promise to make it up to you."

She looked at him while he opens his own box on his lap...a JOLLIBEE! The scene gave her an amnesia of what happened beyond. Wait.....is she starting to feel fond of him?... Whatever. She doesn't want any other thoughts right now. She also started to open her own box and took a big bite on that juicyliscious chickenjoy!😋

Muriel took her shoes off and tiredly dropped her body on her bed.
"What's with him? A FIRST DATE?? But infairness..that surprised me so much." She closed her eyes and smile with those thoughts until she fell asleep unconsciously.

It was indeed a suprise that will be remembered forever...because it was the very first time that someone surprised her on her birthday which made it a simple yet unforgetable first date.
