The air was musty and the sky was gray. This is the way Talon liked it. Talon had been living in his aunt's and uncle's house ever since the fire. His parents had been taken with the house. Trying to run from something. investigators came to investigate but the something wasn't there. It probably burned with the house, nothing to worry about. Talon thought. Talon had been trying to unravel the mystery of what the thing they were running from was.

When he was getting in bed He stared out the window looking at the streets. There was one particularly dark alley that he had never seen before. He squinted at the alley. Suddenly an old man came running out of the alley screaming. Huh.  Talon thought. "That's peculiar."

The man suddenly collapsed. Many people gasped and where whispering to each other. One man looked into the dark alley and instantly was taken by long stringy fingers. Talon could here screams of agony coming from outside. Talon ran to his uncle and started to speak very fast.

"Woah, woah, woah," His uncle said "Slow down boy."

Talon took a few breaths. "Ok, so there was this old man and he came running out of the alley screaming, and then he collapsed dead, and this guy he went to check to see what was in the alley, and he was taken by these fingers."

"Wow," Talons uncle scratched his head. "Umm give me a second OK?"

"OK" Said Talon.

Talon waited on the couch while his uncle was in the bathroom.

Talon's uncle came running out, his head red with scratch marks. "What happened to you?" Talon asked.

"Just... can't stop itching!" He yelled.

He scratched and scratched until his head split open. Alien spiders started to crawl out of every open space. Talon stood stunned, "AUUUUGH!" Talon screamed.

Talon ran out the apartment door. He heard a scream of pain coming from the door to the right. He peaked into the room. Blood was streaked across the room. The person that had been screaming in pain, now was lying on the floor. Whatever had killed the person was devious and maybe had something to do with the man in the alley. Suddenly the door started to rattle.

Talon had seconds to run. But he didn't.

The door exploded into splinters. Talon's vision when twirly. Have to call police. Thought Talon. But Talon was only 11 and didn't have a phone. He sloppily whirled around and started running, or in this case staggering. He didn't think to turn around to see if that monster was following him. Suddenly, he felt a stinging pain in his leg. He looked down at his leg and found a big old cut. He looked behind him there was a monster with saws on his hands, and razor sharp teeth.

"Crap." Talon muttered.

His leg finally gave out and started tumbling down the flight of stairs. The monster's limbs painfully bended the wrong way. The thing started running after him. Just as Talon had gotten down the stairs the whole apartment was strung head to toe with blood and human innards. He got up and ducked down right as a giant praying mantis thing sliced at his head.

The monster with saws on his hands head fell off the praying mantis thing just stared it made a gurgling sound that may have been "Whoops".

Talon side stepped the mantis still paralyzed by what he had done. Talon quickly ran out of the apartment. But he shouldn't have. It was worse. He ran behind the apartment building where there was a forest. Talon bolted for the forest. Then a pack of chimpanzees with stitched and deformed faces swung right by. "Nope."

An old man was crossing the street not even noticing the commotion around him. Talon's jaw went slack while watching the man casually crossing the street. Talon ran right up to him.

"You realize there's an apocalypse going on right now!" Talon yelled over the roars and screams of agony.

"Not that I care." The man grumbled. "I've been waiting awhile to die."

Talon looked at him in amazement. Talon opened his mouth to reply. But there wasn't much to listen to because the man split in two.
