They all froze for a second—until Aiden snapped first.

"What!?"

I couldn't help the way my smirk widened. "What? She is dead, isn't she?" I kept my arms crossed, tapping my foot to a random song stuck in my head.

"How?" Jordan asked, still in shock.

I explained it to them. I told them everything—from when I came home and saw a bunch of cars parked in front of my house, to killing Lilith with one single bullet. They watched in utter shock as I spoke nonchalantly, keeping my hands at my sides, glancing around the room. Another beat of silence passed as I balanced back and forth on my heels.

"Are you okay?" Noah asked, voice laced with concern.

"Why would you go in by yourself?" Aiden added.

"I thought we were going to get to watch her suffer too!" Aiden shot out again. I swear, this kid has zero filter. But who am I to judge? Neither do I.

"I'm fine," I said, shrugging. "They didn't even get one scratch on me. Weak Russian mafia. I went in by myself because I know how to handle myself. And sorry you guys didn't get to join in the fun, but it was either they kill Lilith or me."

"God, Arabella," Noah said, shaking his head. "One day, your curiosity and thrill for danger is gonna get you killed." He paused, then furrowed his brows. "Did you just leave dead bodies lying in your house?"

I could hear the hint of fear in his voice.

I chuckled. "I lit the house on fire. After I left, it looked like the house burned down and that's how the people died. When the police come, I'll just say I wasn't home. Probably went for a walk or something."

Jordan raised an eyebrow. "Okay, but where will you stay now?"

"Orphanage or foster care. But no one wants a 17-year-old, so I'll probably just be left alone with more time to focus on personal matters."

"The fact that you have all this planned out is slightly terrifying," Jordan said. "But we'll be there no matter what you do. Love you, Bella."

I smiled, genuine for once. "God, I love you guys so much."

Aiden squealed and pulled us into a hug. Noah tried to escape, but Aiden locked him in like a wrestler, and Noah muttered under his breath. Not a big fan of hugs, I guess.

"Okay, okay," I said, laughing. "Enough with the sappy Lifetime movie stuff. Mrs. Smith is probably missing me right now."

We headed for class—math. As messed up as it sounds, I didn't completely hate it. I had to take a bigger interest in it due to all the financial stuff I had to know for my businesses.

The door was slightly ajar, so I kicked it open with light force. The whole class went deathly quiet. I'd seen it in a movie once and thought I'd try it. Never regretted that decision. Go big or go home, babes.
