After the mall incident, the family had been walking on eggshells around me. Everything was tense as if they knew I was lying. God forbid they know, I don't think I could handle the humiliation. Though slowly things are easing back to normal excluding my lying.
Today is my first day of school and I was not looking forward to it. I mean I'm this close to stabbing a fork in my eye.
My day already started off with Luca waking me up by throwing himself onto me. That ended with me swinging my arm out still half asleep yet getting a pretty good punch. Thankfully we don't have any uniform giving me freedom on what I get to wear. I changed into blue washed jeans and a black tank top. Shrugging on a leather jacket I add a simple black belt, pulling the look together with my daily rings and necklaces.
Making my way downstairs, I stay silent walking through the kitchen ignoring the following gazes. If someone even udders a word I may accidentally punch them. While waiting for my coffee I lean on the counter, my eyes falling shut. Holding the warm cup in my hands I take a sip of the hot coffee warming down my throat instantly waking me up. A satisfied sigh leaves my lips as a smile spreads across my face. My eyes slowly open, everyone watching me in amusement.
"Good morning." I greet them.
"Good morning bambina. Are you excited for your first day of school?" Papa smiles gently at me as I roll my eyes.
"Oh yes definitely. You know, even the day had started amazingly. Luca being the great brother that he is, had decided to wake me up, by jumping on me." I grin widely before dropping my smile almost immediately. They laugh at my misery to which I scoff.
"You did punch me." Luca huffs out.
"You deserved it." Xavier pitches in walking down the stairs with Xander behind him glaring at everything in sight. Damn.
What did that wall do to you?
When everyone laughs I freeze looking up from my lap to the surrounding figures.
"Xander is just not a morning person." Xavier tells me. Realizing I had said the door thing out loud I nervously smile at Xander who glares at me playfully.
