When the invitation arrived in the mail, Amelia really didn't want to go. Derek was forcing her to go because one, Callie was one of his best friends, and two, she can't just ignore a formal wedding invitation.

So that was how Princess Amelia Shepherd showed up at an airport with seven suitcases, four carry-on bags (Amelia needed her things), one backpack, and a purse.

Amelia slung her purse over her shoulder and stepped out of the private jet after Derek, who offered her his arm. She took it and they headed into the airport. People got out of their way, knowing exactly who they were, and they had a clear pass to their limo. Some people asked for photos and autographs, so Amelia stopped once in a while to say hello. Derek waited at the front, and after a few minutes, he went to his sister and pulled her along, saying they were going to be late.

On the way to the castle, Amelia put in her AirPods and turned on her laptop, deciding to watch All or Nothing—a show about an overly excitable asexual and a shy pansexual goofing around.

"Amelia." Derek shook her by the shoulders. "Are you coming? We're at the palace."

She winced. "Damn. I almost finished season one! I have fifteen minutes left."

"Finish it later," he grumbled. "Arizona and Callie are waiting."

Amelia sighed and packed up her computer, before handing her backpack to Derek, who in turn passed it to a footman outside. "I really don't want to be here," she complained. Derek sent her a glare.

"You've never even met Arizona or Callie!"

"I know, but—"

"No."

As she got out, Amelia shoved Derek and he lost his balance. "Sorry." Amelia giggled. "I didn't mean to push you that hard."

"Sure you didn't," said Derek unbelievingly.

She looked up at the castle. It was huge, with marble with gold turrets. Amelia almost got vertigo by looking at it. A pair of gigantic double doors took up nearly ten-by-twelve feet in the front, with a golden arch surrounding it. Gold fencing bordered marble stairs, leading to the entrance.

"Are you coming, Your Royal Highness?" Derek asked mockingly from a few steps up. Amelia made a face and pushed by him, racing him to the top and waiting at the top.

"I'm taller than you," joked Amelia, referencing the joke they had as kids that Amelia would grow up taller than Derek—and she was, if she wore five- or six-inch heels.

"Sure you are," said Derek distractedly, ruffling her hair a bit as he passed by her. She made a face behind his back before hurrying inside, bunching up her baby-blue chiffon skirts.

"Derek!" A woman with brown hair flew down the giant stairwell, wrapping her arms around his neck. Amelia took the time to look around the inside of the famous castle Derek spoke so highly of. Hallways led off into different rooms that Amelia couldn't see. Couches made of white-dyed leather were connected, leaving space in the middle for big gold-and- marble pillars. Dark, wooden floors complimented the white and gold around the room. Display cases with portraits of other royals before Callie and Arizona were on one wall, proudly showing off the portraits.

"Hey, Callie," Derek said, suppressing laughter. "How's your engagement going?"

Princess Callie Torres beamed up at him. Callie looked nothing like a regular princess—Her black blazer with its hint of green stuck out of the normal dresses like a sore thumb. The white shirt underneath hugged her body, and the pants whose colour matched the blazer were fitted. Her shoes were white flats, matching the shirt under the blazer. "It's great! Just wait until you meet Arizona; you'll be so jealous. Too bad she's into girls," Callie teased.
