About a week after her sweet sixteen, her doorbell was rang. Kelsey was going away to Hollywood with her family for spring break, and had to get up early.
"I wonder who could be at the door at this hour?" She opened the door and saw a beautiful pristine pine wood guitar. She had never seen one like it. It seemed to shine in the light. She saw a envelope with her name on it in the strings and took it out and read it. Its said:
"Congratulations! You have been chosen to be a finalist for the "Write AlSong, Win A Contest" sweepstakes. Please take this guitar to come to Hollywood and perform it in front of a live audience! You will get instructions from none other than Ed Sheeran, and the live audience will vote on who wins for their song to be copy written and published. Hope to see you soon!"
"AAHHH!MOM COME HERE!"Kelsey was sure she woke up the whole neighborhood. But she was so excited she didn't care! Her mom slumped down the stairs. Though it was one of her few days without alcohol, she was very slumpy and nonentergetic.
"What is it honey?" On her good days, her mom was the best, and Kelsey loved her. But on her bad days, she was a nightmare. Though, she had been getting better over the years.
"READ THIS!"
"Honey, stop screaming, its six o clock in the morning." She took the paper and started reading it to herself. "Oh my gosh, honey you won!"
But Kelsey stopped her. Mom I didn't win yet, keep reading."
She read until she reached the bottom.
"Well I guess it's a good thing we're going to Hollywood!"
"Oh my gosh thank you thank you thank you mom I am so excited!"
"Well," Kelsey's mom said, "save that excitement for the stage."
