Instantly. I woke up the sound of the door forced open by the terror of day and night. I shot up quickly from my bed and opened my clenched palm containing the item they are searching for. I looked through the crack of the door to see three soldiers turning over the whole front room. I quickly ran across the room to attempt to hide the piece of paper I panicked and fell as the screams of my family members deafened my ears as they were dragged out of the house in bondage. I quickly place the paper in the drawer secret compartment where I leave the collection. Trying to close the hatch on the secret compartment, I turned around to see a shadow form under the door. I gasped as the hatch was somehow stuck. I pushed it impatiently as the mumbling of the soldiers grew intensely.
The door busted open. I jumped away from the drawer and tried to head of the ajar window. Climbing out I felt an extreme force that dragged me out of reach of my window of opportunity; my opportunity to escape.
I moved around violently but they had firm grip, a firm grip on my freedom as always. And finally led me outside with all my family lined up waiting.
Dumped me by the side of my grandma, I turned to see her bleeding from marks on her face. I reached over and used my shoulder to support her fragile body. Instead I felt a painful thud echo through my insides. I fell on the ground only to be yanked up to kneeing position again.
"Stop that" one said.
They turned over the furniture in my room, causing all my clothes and belonging spill across the floor like blood.
My heart stopped and my heart sunk as one of them dangled the long anticipated evidence for all to see. The evidence that was both proof my existence and my family extinction.
"Look" he said. The other nodded and carried us to the truck just behind us. My sister started to resist but one of them punched her hard in face and in her stomach. She was knocked out cold.
When throwing us into the trunk, the darkness surrounded me, with only the words I remember significantly on the piece of paper" but if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering"
