A Beautiful Mistake

Chapter Four

Three days after Lisa's proposal, Jennie couldn't help but consider. Although she hasn't said her yes, she still thinks its a much bigger risk. Her company is nothing compare to the Manoban Empire, if she accepts this marriage, this could bring her company to the top. Her name would be next to the Manoban.

But that's business wise. Although Jennie seems to not care, she, unlike Lisa, deals with emotions. She wanted to marry for Love, stupid as it sounds, that has been her vision since she was young.

"You have been spacing out lately little sister" Jisoo found her sister staring in space on their living room couch. "Business stuff" Jennie and Jisoo are not really that close but they get along. Jisoo left Jennie to ponder whatever's in her mind.

She's staring at Lisa's cell number. Batting between locking the screen or pressing the call button. But she did the latter. She stepped away from the living room and into her office to have some privacy.

"Meet me for dinner"

Lisa was surprised to discover that Jennie has really been considering her offer. After the call, She informed Rosé to manage the mission tonight in stealing a boat full of vintage cars while she settles her marriage.

"It was nice to know that she considered" Rosé said upon knowing why Lisa won't be in business tonight. "Let's just get this over with and claim my billions before it falls on the wrong hands" she took her black car and drove off to where she's meeting Jennie.

Jennie is very punctual, she was there five minutes before Lisa arrived. As always, Miss Manoban doesn't want to wait. "Good evening Lady Kim" the restaurant they're in is owned by Jennie. "Miss Manoban" Jennie flashed a smile. The two ladies sat down. "I see that you have considered my offer" without emotions, Lisa stare into Jennie's soul. "Yes, But I have one important rule" Lisa was not surprised, Jennie Kim is smart in business. "We are married in paper" with those words, Lisa knew what she meant. "Oh don't worry Lady Kim, I have no plans on touching you other than just shaking your hands" Lisa can sound as cold and heartless as she can be but business is business. "Likewise" Lisa took out all the papers need to be signed by the two of them.

After signing everything, Jennie was about to leave when Lisa stopped her. "Lady Kim" she called her out which made her turn back. "A gift for this merger" Lisa handed the small jewellery box she's been holding on to for a very long time.

Jennie took it off Lisa's hands and opened. She was surprised by the beauty of the ring. "That is passed on from generation to generation to the wives of the Manobans, it is now on your possession" Jennie took the gift and smiled at the lady. "I'll send a gift your way" the lady then left.

A week has passed by and Lisa nor Jennie took the initiative to see each other, even just a courtesy to their marriage. "Miss Manoban, a package from Lady Kim" her secretary placed the package on her desk and left her office.

"Exchanging gifts are we now?" Rosé chuckled. She was so excited to know what was inside so she brought the gift near to Lisa.

"Come on, open it" Lisa couldn't even bother to look at Rosé. "Open it yourself" without any hesitation, Rosé opened the box. Inside it was a huge jewellery box. Rosé opened it and was surprised, a full set of Jewelleries filled with diamonds.

I am not sure what kind of Jewellery you like, so I brought the whole collection. Diamonds, they fit you, strong and unbreakable even in the midst of crisis. Enjoy.

- Wife.

Rosé read the letter but the last word caught Lisa's attention. Wife. Even after a week, it never really occurred to her that she really is married. "Wife"unaware, she said her thoughts out loud.

Rosé couldn't help but giggle on the thought that maybe, sooner or later, someone will break Lisa's walls and teach her how to love.

"Put it inside the safe" she only took the ring before closing the box.

"Can I at least have the bangle?" Lisa gave the lady a death glare. "MINE" with that Rosé rolled her eyes and placed the rest of the jewelries on the safe. "Possessive" Rosé whispered but it was loud enough for Lisa to hear. She chose not to react.

"Park! How was the mission?" Lisa was talking about last night's mission. "15 men dead, the head was in the hide out waiting for his death" Lisa just nodded and sent Rosé away.

As soon as Rosé left. She took a glance on the ring she placed beside her. She took it and wore it.

Lisa was scrolling through the news when a knock caught her attention. "Come in" her secretary entered.

"Miss Manoban, the board has been demanding a name of the private investor you presented, and has been asking why Lady Kim has gained rights to the assets of the Manoban Empire" Lisa knew this day would come but she didn't expect to be fast, she thought that the secret marriage would last longer.

The day since Lisa and Jennie got married, Jennie inherited 30% of the Manoban Empire. But it was part of their own agreement that Jennie would only get what Lisa gives, and vice versa, meaning Lisa has shares on Jennie's company yet she cannot touch it until Jennie gives.

"We'll have a meeting tomorrow" and with that The secretary left.

Lisa left the company alone since Rosé deals with her underground business. Instead of heading home, she went to Jennie's office. She felt odd, that she thought of going to her instead of just calling her. but she shrugged that thought off.

As soon as she stepped inside the company, the staff greeted her, fear was evident in their eyes, everyone feared the Manoban, even if she not in her territory. She didn't wait for anyone to accompany her, she went on her way to Jennie's office and opened the door. It was empty, she looked at the secretary. "Lady Kim is in a meeting, she'll be out in a while. Why don't ---" Lisa cut off the secretary by slamming Jennie's door not wanting to hear whatever words the secretary has to say. She sat on Jennie's chair and looked at the beautiful view of the city from her office.

after a couple of minutes, the door swung open, just in time for Lisa turn her back and face the person who entered. As soon as the door close, Lisa spoke.

"Good day wife"

Unbelievable. Jennie thought. "Wife" She acknowledge Lisa's presence. "What brings you here?" She asked as she place the files on her table. "We got ourselves a problem" Lisa stood up looking Jennie right in the eye. Lisa told Jennie everything she needs to know.

"We'll go public then" Lisa was surprised with Jennie's words. there was no hint of hesitation. "Do you know how demanding going public is?" Lisa asked, hoping Jennie would change her mind. "I took acting class. I can be the sweet and loving wife in front of the world" Lisa couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Manoban, I came to notice that you always hesitate, when did you become indecisive?" Jennie asked.

the day you became part of my life. Lisa thought. Jennie doesn't know anything about her underground business. if their marriage would go public, that means, she will be in grave danger. it will add to the long list of responsibilities Lisa has.

"I am not indecisive, I am just careful" Lisa stepped away from Jennie's desk and went closer to her.

"You do not know me well, Wife, You only know the half of me" She whispered in her ear which sends shiver down Jennie's spine.

"Whatever reason you have, just keep it to yourself, I am giving you a free pass of exposing my dignity as a business woman to the world, if you don't decide in 15 seconds, you will lose it" Jennie started counting.

"Well then, go public it is"
