Chapter Eighteen

Taehyung POV

I woke up and reached my hand to my side. I wanted to pull Y/n to me. But I didn't feel her.

Where was she? Where would she have gone? I got up and looked into the bathroom. She wasn't there.

"Jungkook!" I called out and Jungkook rushed into my room with a worried expression.

"Yes? My King?"

"Where is Y/n?" I asked.  His clueless look made me frustrated. He didn't know either.

"Look in the library." He nodded and rushed along. I heard him call two other guards.

I rushed out to the hall, not caring I was not dresses well and went to the maids quarters.

"Mable!" All the maids looked at me and rushed onto another room. Leaving Mable there.

"Y-yes? My Majesty?" she said with a bow.

"Where is the Queen? Y/n?" I asked coldly.

Her eyes widened. "Her Majesty isn't around?"

I knew the answer. No one knew where she was.

((Last night))

Y/N POV

I want to go Home.

I was going home.

Taehyungs father was sneaking me out tonight. I couldn't stay here another day.

"Take m-me home. Please."

Taehyungs fathers expression read so many different things. Pity. But almost too much pity. Like it was forced. And then some I didn't know. I didn't really want to recognize.

"Oh..yes I'll take you..it'll be only a few days-" I cut him off.

"No, can't you today?" The corners of his mouth twitched.

"Hmm I guess I can. Just give me a minute. This is a big thing getting from the sea world to the surface. But I think I can do it." I nodded and wiped my face.

I was really going home. Back to breathing dry air. You wouldn't think you'd miss your life so much until it's all gone..

((TIME SKIP))

"Ready?" Taehyungs fathers raspy, tired voice asked me.

"Yes."  He smiled and nodded. And lead me out of the castle.

"We'll have to go out a back door. To not cause suspicion. I know a way." I gulped and followed him.

We went down the dark halls as the lamps has been toned down, making our shadows look creepy and causing me to became a bit startled time to time.

About 3 hall ways and 2 stair cases later he took me into a closet. I felt a bit creeped out, but what did I have to lose?

"In here." He whispered. I whispered an "okay" Back.

Inside the small room was a bunch of boxes. He started to move the boxes out of the way, making light hit a old door knob. There was another door here.

"Through here is a passage to the back gardens. Then we can get out of the water-air dome and you'll have about 50 minutes to reach surface before you run out of air. You'll end up close to where you were before, but perhaps closer to the beach. Maybe. Not sure actually." He shrugged. But I was confused though.

"What about you? Don't you need air?" I asked. He chuckled like a was dumb.

"Oh..I think you misunderstood. I'm only taking you to the end of the dome. You're on your own from there." I gulped and nodded hesitantly.

I know that I could, in theory, make it to the surface in 50 minutes. But it's a big risk.

"Are you ready?" He asked while pointing to the door with his eyes. In a indication he wanted me to hurry. So I followed him out.

It was a even darker tunnel to back gardens. His light was barly anything. I couldn't even see my hand 5 inches from my face. But maybe that was good since it was probably pretty gross down here.

After maybe 20 minutes, we made it to another door. Although this one was smaller.

"Through here is the gardens then the end of the dome is maybe about 30 yards."

We opened the door and snuck to the end of the dome.

((TIME SKIP))

We made it to the end of the glass dome. There was a door with a small room, then another door. 《 Think like Sandy's dome in SpongeBob haha》

"You're on your own now." He said with a sigh.

"Thank you, sir. I hope that I will never see this place again." I said with a smile of relief and a laugh.

"We'll see." He mumbled.

"Hmm? I didn't hear you?"

"I didn't say anything. Well, goodbye, Y/n.." he said and I went into the smaller room.

"Hello," a robotic female voice said, "the air will become thinner and the water thicker. Be prepared." Oh..

The water-air was Harder the breath until it felt like it was almost thick. I started to float I the water around me.

"Now opening the door." The voice said.

The door made a beep sound and open. I took a gulp in and went off.

(((I wanted to take this time to explain how the air dome works. And the history of this place.

So couple hundred years ago some humans were lost at sea. All men sailors. But as most were drowning, some beautiful women who could breath the water came to them and kissed them. Transmitting their ability to breath both water and air. But this only worked for so long.

They eventually needed a way to breath both and live under water. Because the women and the men fell in love with each other. They built this huge glass and rock dome. It was about the size of New York city.

So they filled this place with water-air. Made from pumping small air bubbles from pipes from the surface to the water. Then the city thrived.

Most people there are half human and half whatever the sea woman were. What they were called has been changed throughout the years. But most commonly called mermaids.

They elected a ruler, as wars had became too much. Then generation's of great kings came to be. )))
