Peculiar objects were spinning around me; such as books, decorated sticks, and black cloaks. I was placed in a crammed shop with thousands of slender, garnished boxes on shelves. I ambled towards the boxes, thrusting one of the floating books out of my way. I picked up one of the boxes that was crammed in between the crooked shelf. Lifting up the lid, an embellished stick was lifted out of the box. It was placed in my hand, imploring for me to give it a twirl. I did. Light emerged from the tip and ricocheted off the dark walls, making them bright. The light bounced towards me and stroke my chest, filling me with warmth and vigorous thoughts.
"Carmen Blythe, how pleasant to see you," a man's voice said. I quickly threw the stick on the marble table, retreating from it.
A man, maybe in his mid eighties, arose from the shadows behind one of the shelves. He grabbed one of the drifting books and opened it.
"Ah, ha! Here we go. 'Amanda Blythe Clifford, wife to David Blythe, mother to Carmen Elizabeth Blythe.' "
"How did you know that?" I demanded, stalking up to him. The man tossed the book, it staying afloat in the air.
"Carmen, dear Carmen, I was your mother's wandmaker. Came in the shop on a mid August day, after receiving her acceptance letter. The first wand I handed her was the perfect match, I could see it from the start. Why, what stunning, cerulean eyes you have. Just like her." the man said, wiping a stray tear from his ridged skin. Wandmaker? And how did he even know about my mother and father? I was beyond shocked of all the knowledge he was spitting out to me. But, the question is, why would my parents come here? Floating items are a bit eerie to me. I guess the elder man was a tad bit eerie, too, now that I place my head on the thought.
I look back to see the man disintegrating, along with all the drifting objects and shelves. Why, the whole shop was turning to soot!
"Wait!" I yelled, trying to run, but my feet were plastered to the floor. I thrashed and kicked, but there was no way out of this situation. Before I knew it, my body was copying the actions of everything else around me. My vision blurred, and I was swept away into nothing.
