The paramedics came to my house. But by the time they got to my house, my brother was unconscious.
“Why is there an ambulance at you house Lux?!” Blake’s worried voice shouted through the phone.
“My brother was choking … And he went unconscious.” I sobbed through the phone.
“Just stay there. I’ll be there in 5 minutes. Okay?”
“Okay” I whimpered.
My mum left with David and the ambulance took them to the hospital.
Just like he said, he was at my house within 5 minutes. He hugged me tightly as he got inside of the house. I broke into tears as I put my head on his shoulder.
“Everything is going to be fine. They’ll take care of him.” He whispered to me. I nodded softly and whimpered. We both walked over to the couch. “Just be happy I didn’t come through your window again.” He made me laugh.
“Lux?”
“Blake?”
“We should play a game…it could probably get your mind off David.”
“Good idea. What game?”
“We should get to know each other better, how about ‘21 questions’?” I nodded to him.
“What’s your favourite color?”
He looked at me with a confused face and I said to him, “What? Is that question too ‘childish’ for your liking?”
“No, and it’s green” He laughed. He looked like he was thinking hard for a question. “Hmmm…” He thought. “Okay, I have one; tell me something you would never tell anyone.”
“First of all that wasn’t a question and second of all, I wasn’t going to tell anyone then I shouldn’t tell you.” I smirked.
He annoyingly sighed and said, “Just answer the damn question” This is something I’m going to have to think about. I can’t think of anything worth telling him, because all I can think of is when I peed my pants in 5th grade… And stupid things like that. But there’s only one reasonable answer I can think of… When my father died. I haven’t told anyone outside my family, except Alex. And I know if I tell Blake I’m going to break down into tears. Should I?
“This is going to be hard to tell you Blake.” I sighed. “When I was 3 years old… My father was shot and killed.” I said while looking at my nervous fingers fiddle with the edge of my shirt. His eyes widened.
“Lux I’m sorry. “
“Don’t be, it’s not your fault anyway.”
I think I feel a tear coming.
“We shouldn’t play this anymore.” Blake commented.
“Why not?”
“Well I feel like I’ve upset you, you look like you’re going to cry.” He admitted. He was right; I think I was going to cry.
A tear fell.
“I’m really sorry Lux.” He came over to me and hugged me tightly. I felt like I was his, he was mine.
But that’s not true. I know it isn’t
*Blake’s P.O.V*
With Lux in my arms, everything just feels right. I like it. She moved back from me and looked into my eyes whilst I looked in hers. They were unbelievably green at the moment and they look beautiful. Underneath them, I saw dried up tears.
Once again, I felt horrible that she was crying. Worse… I made her cry too. Then I started looking down and noticed her incredibly soft looking lips.
I moved closer to her, towards her ear and whispered.
“Your eyes…look beautiful. You’re beautiful.”
I moved my head away from hers and she was smiling. Her smile was beautiful. What I loved the most is that everything about her is beautiful. She smiled and held me closer.
*Lux’s P.O.V*
Suddenly we heard the front door swing open and our arms separated.
“Lux!?” My mother’s voice yelled.
“Yeah? Mom?” I ran over to the door and hugged her. From the corner of my eye I could see Blake walking towards us.
“Well, hello Blake.” My mum said to Blake.
“Hi Ms. Taylors.” He smiled politely.
My mum looked at the ground.
Something hit me mentally. Where the hell was David?!
“Mum! Where’s David?!” I asked urgently. She sighed, and I was about to cry.
“David’s fine, honey. But he just has to stay the night because of what happened in the ambulance.” She sighed.
I gave her a concerned look. “He had a seizure inside the ambulance. And just to make sure…. I’m going to be staying at the hospital for the night. But I do not want you to be alone here. So, Blake? Can you stay here with Lux for the night?”
He nodded, “Of course Ms. Taylors.” And he smiled.
“Call me Beth and both of you need to listen… No funny business while I’m gone. “She said with a sincere voice. “Mom!” I said with an embarrassed tone.
“I’m just going to go get some clothes upstairs then I’m leaving, okay?” Then she came over to me and kissed my forehead. I nodded and smiled.
“Do you want to go out tonight? How about dinner?” He said with a charming smile.
