They were on the outskirts of a flourishing kingdom known as Bairon, hidden away in the forest with a comforting blanket and fire before them. The fire illuminated them both, and despite the warmth of it, they nuzzled close to each other. Taehyung sat in front of Jungkook, his back to the prince's chest but the God smiled when strong arms held him close. "It's pathetic to still think of them when it's been nearly a decade since we were in Olympus." he commented in a low voice, his fingers grazing the grass underneath them. "An existence fueled by a desire for revenge, and now..." He smiled sadly as he stared at the fire, "I have been granted a peace I never would have envisioned before you." Taehyung had whispered softly, his fingers trailing across Jungkook's forearms and he looked at the dark sky littered with white specks from the stars. "I believed that there wasn't anything more to me than the chaos that birthed me—" his voice trailed off, but he smiled when Jungkook instantly kissed the back of his head.

Jungkook leaned his head against Taehyung's head and he smiled softly as he whispered, "A decade for two immortals is nothing but a second." He smiled; the thought of them living an eternity together was something he was eternally grateful for. "They never deserved you, Taehyung and they never will." His smile grew as the pressures that once restrained him evaporated and he could breathe at ease, at last. "I never believed I could have this either, but we deserve this peace."

Taehyung leaned his head back, finding comfort in the crook of Jungkook's neck and he smiled at how comfortable they were together. He could have drifted into a peaceful sleep. "Your family didn't deserve you either." He whispered as he thought of the family that sold him, and put him in the path of a malevolent king and queen.

"I still think of her at times— it's pathetic." he shook his head, but smiled when Taehyung immediately kissed his jawline. "Zeus mentioned that I was born from a witch but the woman that sold me isn't a witch..." he frowned lightly as he thought about it longer than he wanted. It made his head hurt, "She can't be a witch unless she masked her power, but then again I was so young that I hardly remembered much of her, so perhaps she was. I thought a hopeless human had sold me, and somehow a witch selling me only makes me feel worse."

Taehyung smiled wickedly as he held his hand open and black dust swirled around his palm. "I can force her to tell us the truth—"

"No. It wouldn't change a thing. It won't change what I had to endure, and I would rather never see her again."

Taehyung frowned as he stared at the flames, and though he wanted to get the answers for Jungkook, he knew that nothing could ever give him the comfort he desired. He just needed time to heal and to move on from the memories of those wretched humans. "You're right, you cannot change the past, but I'm here, Jungkook. And I would destroy anyone who even looked at you funny." He smiled as he turned to kiss his jaw line. "Come on. Let's cuddle on the blanket." He chuckled as he gripped onto the collar on Jungkook's shirt and he pulled him toward the blanket spread on the grass. He laughed when Jungkook eagerly kissed him, and they lied on the blanket, lost in each other's tender lips. "We should head back home." He whispered, his voice wavered slightly when Jungkook's lips trailed from his neck and to his ear. He moaned gently, loving the way the prince held him tightly against him.

"Is that what you wish for?" Jungkook asked lightly as he sucked on Taehyung's ear.

Taehyung moaned softly, but he managed a weak nod. "Our bed would be far more comfortable." He smirked lightly, but laughed loudly when Jungkook's arms immediately hooked around him and he picked him up easily. He forced the fire to disperse before he approached the kingdom, and the God laughed as he kicked his legs a bit.

Taehyung forced him to put him down, and as they walked back into the kingdom, they admired the way the kingdom buzzed with cheerful residents drunkenly chattering away. There were dozens of groups around them, and they remained huddled close to the pubs and theatres where few jesters performed.
