Chapter 2

The next 7 years of Archie's life were filled with books, chocolate and quidditch, thanks to Sirius and James having him playing by the age of 1 and of course the occasional prank. Remus raised him to be respectful but to know that he was a Black and he had to uphold a certain level of elegance, which Archie did in a very similar way to Sirius, only adding salt to the wound. Remus sent him to the local primary school as he wanted him to have a basic education but archie got labelled the 'weird kid' because he didn't show interest in football or other 'normal' things and just sat reading books.

He had scars similar to remus' from shifting as he was a very curious and adventurous pup and often ended up hurting himself or from the occasional painful shift when he clawed at his skin much like his papa. There was one under his right eye, on his neck and some on his arms, chest and back too. Archie could always remember what happened during the full moon as he kept his mind when he shifted, unlike his papa, because he was born not bitten. He got strange looks for the scars at school but he took it all on the chin. Walking anywhere in the wizarding world was troublesome too though because wherever he went he was followed by the ghost of his dad,
"That's Black's boy" they would whisper or
"He was there when you know who was finished off", Remus often wrapping his arm around his son and rushing along.

Full moons weren't as fun anymore but they had eachother, little did they know Sirius would turn into padfoot every full moon too just to feel closer to his boys, just like on their birthdays when he would look up to the sky and sing for them. Remus and archie had an amazingly close bond, often sitting and reading together, listening to the quidditch over the radio and playing it in the back-garden.

Sadly Achie suffered from terrible night terrors, it was always the memories of halloween 1981 or his dad dieing after he was sent to azkaban, he knows he's alive but the mind can play terrible tricks sometimes. After a nightmare he usually ends up in his papa's bed and they cuddle, eat lots of chocolate and read the day away.

Arcturus' Hogwarts letter came on the 11th of june 1989 but instead of an owl delivering it, McGongall came with it much to remus' surprise. He invited her in for tea and a catch up, they walked to the kitchen where Arcturus sat at the table reading one his favourite books: Alice in wonderland, while blasting Queen on the radio. McGongall stopped in the doorway while remus continued to the kettle, Arcturus looked up and she saw the eyes of sirius, the eyes of the infant who used to live in Gryffindor Tower with her troublesome quartette.

"I don't know who he's more like." She voiced, "You or sirius", remus stilled and looked up at this.
"Well he's definitely ours" remus chuckled, Archie tucked his face back into his book glancing at Minnie every so often.
"Archie, this is Minnie"
"Remus!"
"Right, sorry. Professor McGongall" he corrected while rubbing the back of his neck like when he was a teen.
"I think I prefer Minnie" Archie had the infamous smirk his dad used to wear plastered on his face.
"Well there's no doubt he's sirius', I'd know that grin anywhere." Arcturus turned to look at his papa who had a ghost of a smile on his lips.
"Papa, do I really have dad's grin?" Archie questioned, greyish-blue eyes sparkling.
"Yes, you're the spitting imaged of your dad in fact, with my hair of course"

They conversed catching up, Minnie bringing up how she remembered archie to be such a quiet baby but remus knew the real reason for her visit would pop up soon. And so it did,
"Right, let's get to it shall we." Minnie said once she thought the time was right, "Arcturus, we're going to accommodate your Lycanthropy the same way we did with your father's. You'll go to the whomping willow with madame Pomfrey and follow the tunnel to the shrieking shack, I suggest you leave a box of comfy clothes there, and that's where you'll spend every transformation. Then you'll spend the following day on bed rest in the hospital wing or your dorm. Whatever poppy see's fit. But I'm sure you'll be fine. You were raised by Remus after all." She finished with a smile.
