I went back home over the winter holidays. I caught the train back and Mum picked me up from the city to drive me home. Reece greeted us as we pulled into the driveway. He had changed so much even over the last 10 weeks since I saw him last. I felt completely changed too.
"Happy Birthday for last week! Sorry I couldn't be here for it," I said giving him a big hug.
"Thanks."
"So did you go out and try out your real ID?!"
"Ha. No. I had no-one to go with me. None of my friends are 18 yet. So I didn't do anything. My parents took me out for dinner. It was rather sad."
"Awwww."
"I was kind of hoping you would take me on a pub crawl now you're home!"
"Really?" I said scrunching up my nose unenthusiastically, "All I've been doing at uni is drinking! I was planning to detox these holidays....and don't you need to study?!"
"No! It's the holidays! Come on, you can't do this to me!"
"Fine, chill! I'll do it. Where'd you want to go?"
"Anywhere, I'm not fussy."
I'd never gone out with Reece, just the two of us. It was so strange. I realised that night, how spoiled I was, growing up with such a sweet, beautiful boy next door. No wonder every other guy was such a let down. I got him my favourite cocktail in a jug and a couple of shot glasses.
"This is brilliant," he said excitedly. "We should play I have never!"
"Oh god, the last time I played that... actually it didn't work out that bad." I remembered.
"I have never..." Reece started, "got so drunk I ended up vomiting."
We both took a shot.
"You idiot, you're supposed to think of something you haven't done."
"Yeah but I wanted a shot. Your turn."
"I have never killed another person."
"You're dumb, now neither of us can drink." We both took a shot anyway.
"I have never had sex," Reece said like a question. I took a shot.
"Who did you sleep with?! Tell me it wasn't Zac the Second!"
"Yeah it was Zee. And trust me, it was nothing to call home about."
"I came pretty close with Ana."
"Oh yeah? What happened with you two?" I was so out of the loop with Reece's life, I felt bad.
"She moved away."
"Oh, shame."
"Yeah. She was perfect really. We had great chemistry. I was open to a long distance thing, but she broke up with me."
"So you didn't sleep with her?"
"Well I tried. We were really into it one night, so I thought, but then she just stopped it. I don't know if I did something wrong. Women are so confusing."
"I know. I'm a woman and I'm confused by myself! Maybe she wasn't as into it as you thought."
"How're you suppose to know?"
"Ha, good question. I'm still figuring it out myself. I know you definitely don't just go inside. You need to look after the girls needs before you think of yourself."
"And how do I do that?"
"Well it's supposed to be all about the clit."
"The what?"
