Bonding

I woke up in my motel room. flashbacks of earlier that night came flooding in. Kicking off the covers, I looked around of Damian. The door opened and my brother came in. His face looked relieved once he saw me up and out of bed.

"I'm glad you're ok." he said, pulling me into a hug.

This was awkward, he's usually not the affectionate guy. But I wrapped my arms around him anyway.

"We need to talk. About a lot of things."

"You want to talk?" I asked him.

"Well, Sam told me what you said. He gave me a new perspective of life and things."

"And?"

"Mily, I love you too. And I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you. Or for mom."

"What did that Sam kid tell you?" I asked him.

"Family just means a lot to him. And that you're basically the only family I've got left. That I should cherish you. Nothing is better than a sibling who's got your back."

I shook my head and laughed. No matter what had happened, our mom was the only person who could get us to forgive each other and mend whatever bond between my brother and I was broken. I'm surprised that a complete stranger like Sam was able to do the same.

Damian started tickling me like he used to when we were kids. A full on tickle war broke loose and next thing you know, we were on the floor.

"Ow, ow, ow." I exclaimed as he gently but painfully grabbed my arm to help me up.

"What? I barely touched you." He said.

"I know, I know. It's just--"

"'It's just' what?"

"Nothing, nothing."

Damian took my wrist and pulled up my sleeve. There was a bruise on my arm that Ryan had left. I looked up into my brother's eyes and saw his eyes blacken in rage.

"Did Ryan do this to you?"

"Look, he had a--"

"No! Don't make excuses for him, Lani!"

Damian rushed outside and I followed behind. A familiar car pulled up and I knew this was a horrible sign.

"Speak of the devil." he said

"Damian, you're alive." Ryan said

"What the hell are you doing here? How'd you even find me?" I asked.

"I have my ways, baby cakes."

Ryan walked towards me and pulled me into him.

"Let go of me." I said harshly.

"No."

"Let go of my sister, you bastard." Damian yelled.

"Why should I?"

"I don't want you laying a hand on her. I saw what you did, prick!"

"Stop acting like you care about your sister. Where were you when she needed you most? When your mother was dying? When I threw her to the ground?" Ryan said, getting in my brother's face.

"Ryan, just leave."

"You're coming with me, then."

He grabbed me by the arm, same spot where the bruise already was.

"Let go of me!" I yelled, pushing him to get away.

A loud smack and a burning sensation across my cheek. My palm covered my cheek. I looked at my brother, and his eyes turned black. Literally. Next thing you know, Ryan and Damian were fighting.

I rushed to get Ryan off of my brother's back. He threw me off, causing me to fall against Sam and Dean's door.

"Milani, are you ok?" Sam said looking down at me.

Damian and Ryan fell to the floor. Damian's blade sliding across the ground. Sam got Damian off of Ryan.

"Damian?" Sam asked, noticing his eyes.

Ryan came running back towards my brother and Sam. Something shined in the shadows. I heard my brother grunt and the silver blade fall to the ground. Everything went in slow motion.

"No!" I yelled.

Dean came running out and tackled Ryan to the ground. Sam struggled keeping Damian up, and I rushed to help. He was far too heavy, and sank to the floor.

"Milani, look at me." Damian said, as tears streamed down my face.

"No, this isn't goodbye. You can't leave me either."

"Hello? I'd like to report a crime." I heard Sam say into the phone.

"I love you. Promise me you'll find whoever fathered us."

I started sobbing.

"Promise?" My brother asked again.

"Yes. I promise."

"Sam, please, take care of her."

Damian's eyes closed after that. I held on to him, hugging him. Praying to whatever God out there to bring him back. A warm hand grabbed mine, but I didn't bother.
