you were shaking with anger...
or maybe it was your pain that was making you vibrate at a frequency quite impossible for a female to achieve.your second week in shibuya and you were on your period. you were at least hoping for an extra week! not to go into school being extra emotional and sensitive!
you half-cried, half-yelled into your pillow as you forced your body upwards. you slowly sat up on the bed, then carefully swung your legs over the side. closing your eyes, you sat on the edge of your bed for a moment, collecting yourself (and trying to not cause a dizzy spell— you were anemic, and although you could normally walk your spells off, they weren't fun to go through). taking a deep breath, you opened your eyes and pushed off the white sheets, letting out a soft groan at the soreness in your legs.
"training was a bitch last night, what the hell..." you slurred your words slightly in your half-awake daze, slowly walking to the bathroom connected to your bedroom.
you had lived in america before this, more specifically in ohio. sometimes you wondered where the fuck the buildings were in ohio. you would drive for hours using your father's car and yet you would never near the outskirts of a city. your dad said that it was "just the way the country is, pumpkin." then, he would tell you to go grab the rest of the cucumbers he left on the grill.
by the way, why the fuck were the cukes on the grill?
you sigh as you brush your teeth. you guess you'll never know.
you can't say you didn't grow up with a proper education, 'cuz you did! however, you don't know if your... rural education could have prepared you for the city-life schools, especially since you couldn't speak japanese.
yeah. that was an issue, wasn't it?
you twist your spine to stretch it out, sighing in contempt as you hear a few cracks. you walk back into your room, heading to your closet to find the uniform given to you.
"i wonder... where did i put it..." you tapped your chin thoughtfully before using both hands to rummage through the mess of clothes in front of you.
has it been two weeks? yes, yes it has. have you finished unpacking? no, no you haven't.
"a-ha! gotcha, bitch! ooh... you're kinda wrinkly though..." your face scrunched up in distaste as you tossed your uniform onto your bed before removing your pajamas. they were purple and pink, and as odd as your pj's looked, they were soft as fuck, and who are you to deny that kind of comfort?
hoisting your skirt, the final piece, over your ass, you tried to button it... and failed. you sucked in, still trying to button it.
"ooh, come on— ah! there we gooo... i can't breathe-!" you wheezed as the skirt fucking suffocated you.
oh well. that's a problem for future you to deal with.
you bent over (as best you could with the skirt squeezing your internal organs) and picked up your bag, then walked over to your nightstand to grab your phone and airpods, and your charger, just in case!
you went and grabbed a banana left on the counter by the woman whose house you're living in. she had left out milk and a cereal box, but it seems that she also had this prepared given you didn't have enough time to eat cereal.
you hummed. smart.
she left a note,
i will be back later! i will be bringing home food- your family said you like noodles? i do too! please have a good day at school!
- himeyomi sakura ♡︎
oh, she's so sweet!
invisible tears slid down your cheeks as you wailed over her cuteness. ms. himeyomi was no older than 40, and was absolutely adorable! she had prepared a room for you and everything, apparently even taking into account that you don't like fish. ugh, she was too good to you. you felt as though you were taunting her house with your american-ness sometimes.
walking to the door, you put on your gym shoes, and grabbed the house key hanging off of the rack.
as you stepped outside, you grabbed your phone to listen to music as you wal—
"crap, i'm gonna be late! scram, (y/n), go!"
you ran as fast as your legs could carry you!
...which was actually pretty fucking fast because you were a setter on the volleyball team here and you needed to bust your ass to get to the second ball.
that's right! the reason you're here is because one of your mom's friends set you up with a volleyball scholarship here in shibuya. you, one of the most promising women's youth setters we're going to team up with ayashi rin, one of the most promising women's youth hitters!
panting as you ran, you just hoped that no one was a fucking bitch, and that God didn't want you dead.
