Lanterns and Waterlillies

A cool evening breeze blew through the air as a certain ravenette blindly stumbled along an uneven dirt trail, occasionally tripping over a loose shoelace on his dirtied, scuffed up converse. However, his boyfriend of many moons, Lance was there to help him on the way down. Lance and Keith have been dating for two years exactly, tonight was their second anniversary and well.. Let's just say the brunette had a bit of a surprise in store.

"What's so important that needs me to be blindfolded, going down a hill when it's freezing cold outside?" The smaller of the two complained, when in all reality, it wasn't as cold as he exaggerated it to be. A breezy spring night never hurt anyone in the end.

Lance only chuckled at his boyfriends complaining, being grown used to it after the years they've officially been together. His attitude only made the brunette fall further in love with the other. Yes, Including his supposedly stupid haircut that Lance internally adores so. Though, it probably wasn't much of a secret anymore with how many head rubs and the running of his long, tanned fingers through the raven locks Keith received nearly every single night.

"Come on, Darling.." Lance whispered, being sure to bring out his naturally smooth, flirtatious tone that always seemed to fluster the other, no matter the context. Lance was just naturally a charmer, it was in his families nature to be that way. In other words, Lance was raised to be a gentleman. "We're almost there, no need to get all whiny just yet. Plus, you can always have my jacket if you get too cold once we're finally there." Lance reminded with a grin that the other couldn't see, due to being blindfolded.

The Latino continued to lead Keith down the hill, to somewhere more flat that he'd actually prepared previously. All of it was in Lance's view as of now. A widespread black blanket on the grassy shore of a lake, surrounded by fireflies and waterlilies. Next to the blanket, was a decorated tree. A willow tree to be exact, the long newly bloomed leaves danced in the breeze, swaying side to side wherever the wind took them. The taller man grinned in excitement when he saw his perfect little set up in full display. How the surrounding lanterns made the water shimmer, how the sound of the noisy crickets chirped from the grass, or how the frogs ribbited from their homes on the lily pads. Honestly, the sight was purely magical. The best part of it all was that he could spend this night under the clear view of stars with his boyfriend of officially two years.

"And.. We've made it." Lance quietly cheered as he untied the knot that held the blindfold on his boyfriends head before letting it fall down and being stuffed into his olive jackets pocket. Keith's eyes went wide at the scene before him, his amethyst eyes slowly scanning the scene as the warm illumination of the lanterns gave a slight orange glow to the pale boy's cloud skin. Suddenly, Keith felt bad for complaining. Keith felt even worse when he turned around to Lance who'd now been sliding off his jacket from his broad shoulders and slipped it on Keith instead. Underneath the jacket he'd been wearing, Lance wore fancier attire. A thinner baby blue button up shirt, tucked into a pair of black slacks that hugged his swimmers waist with a brown leather belt.

If one thing was clear, Lance definitely wanted to impress Keith this evening.. And him offering his jacket was definitely planned as well.

"Lance.." Keith whispered as he allowed Lance to gently pull his arms into the hoodie that was far too large for his slim figure. "You.. Seriously planned all this- for me?" The man continued, his indigo eyes meeting Lance's striking blue ones. Keith was awestruck, it was obvious by the way his eyes sparkled or his mouth hung open in the slightest, further proving his utter shock.

"Of course I did.. Who else would it be for, Baby?" Lance joked with a grin, zipping the olive green material onto the smaller boys body before scooping him up and walking over to the set up blanket. One of Lance's favorite things in the world was just holding his boyfriend. Even though the Korean always had a fit when he was picked up off the ground, Lance just thought it added more to the adorableness to the man. Surely, Lance was deeply in love.
