여섯 Making a move

I walked to my brother's dorm. Because he's in his third year, I was able to visit the campus a few times. My only brother, Sunghoon, specializes in the business world, primarily in marketing. I'm a huge fan of that guy. We've had a great relationship for a long time. Our parents were never truly present with us, so we were raised by others. Sunghoon and I were quite close at that period. I understand though, they were only working for our best interest.

Before this big group thing, I'm going to kill some time. I'm not sure what it is, but Sunghoon claims it's boring. As I approached his room, I noticed a slew of intimidating-looking students. They might be able to step on me because I'm so small. I dashed towards his room, hoping to avoid any potential conflict.

❝What's up, Riki?❞ Sunghoon welcomed me. ❝You always called me that?❞ I looked up at the ceiling trying to remember. ❝It's your real name, can't I call you that Riki?❞ Sunghoon asked, ❝Yes, it's because I have gotten so used to the name Niki.❞

❝I have some stuff to tell you big bro, I need some help too.❞ Sunghoon dropped his phone and paid full attention to what Niki had to say. He always does this as a sign of respect and example for Niki.

I told him everything; about Sunoo and I. However, despite me being tense, Sunghoon laughed out loud. ❝Enemies for a long time huh? Even so, you sound very fond of him. You even gave him your favorite duck blanket. If I said I didn't know about your little crush for a while now I would be lying, so now that you both ended up in the same dorm is very funny to me. Coincidence? There is no such thing as a coincidence.❞

I knew that Sunghoon knew about my little crush but I didn't want to bring it up because it was too embarrassing. But I think it's time to change things.

❝What would you think if I tried to at least be friends by the end of the year?❞

❝You want to know what I think? Y'all are going to be cozy and dating.❞ Sunghoon mocked that Niki looked at his brother as though he couldn't believe what he'd just said. ❝I'm not against the idea at all but what about him?❞ I said, flailing my arms around.

❝Maybe you just have to try to win him over. You already started with breakfast so continue on that path. I see in shows that the protagonist who tries to win over his love interest often tries to show as much affection to hint at his or her love. but I think you should take it slowly and not make it obvious.❞ I listened to Sunghoon and tried to make sense of his advice.

I moved my gaze to the wall clock. I had no choice except to depart right now. I had an idea that reminded me of why I was here in the first place, ❝Dude, can I like, have a pair of the Airpods. The ruby ones.❞ ❝Yeah, they are in the drawers over there, just move the diamond ones and you will find them.❞ I retrieved what I wanted and headed for the door. ❝Okay cool. See ya later.❞

I'm getting ready to go out with Jake and Jungwon at the end of the day. I was a little jittery. I've never gone out with new people like that before. They could be plotting to assassinate me, for all I know. Hey, it's occurred before, as you're well aware.

I was standing in the entryway, putting on my sneakers, when the door behind me clicked. Niki stood there staring at me, pleading with me to continue what I was doing. ❝Are you going somewhere?❞ he asked.

❝Yeah, Karaoke apparently. The people you left me with invited me out and now I'm fearing for my life.❞ I said sarcastically.

❝Well, do you want me to come with you?❞ he questioned.

In the oddest way, I cornered niki. ❝Why would you come with me? I thought you hated me?❞

Niki's gaze darted about the room, avoiding my presence.. ❝If my roommate died and I don't have a report what will happen then?❞

❝Just do whatever, I'm leaving now.❞ I said pacing out of the dorm.

❝Hey wait for me.❞

❝Hey Sunoo! Are you ready?❞ Jungwon asked. I nodded my head and flashed a quick smile before looking at the person trailing behind me. ❝He wanted to come, is that okay?❞ Jungwon and sunoo and Jake all looked at the short male standing there. ❝You know what they always say, the more, the merrier, let's go hoes!❞

❝Sir- I'm not a hoe, I'm not used as a gardening tool.❞ Jake shouted.

Niki and Sunoo trailed behind the two, observing their bickering. It was early evening, and the sun was about to dip below the horizon. While the four figures proceeded to saunter off campus, the sky glistened in tones of orange and crimson.
